NEW YORK – Two masked climbers scaled the Empire State Building on July 1 , 2026 to share a message of love from the top of the iconic New York City skyscraper.
Ivan Beerkus and Angela Nikolau scaled the tip of the Empire State Building Wednesday to share a message – and apparently, a proposal. Two people were captured on camera atop the nearly 1,500-foot-tall structure on July 1, where they clung to the building's spire to unfurl a banner reading, "When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace."
The climbers self-identified on social media as Russian couple Ivan Beerkus and Angela Nikolau. The daredevil couple was the subject of the 2024 documentary “Skywalkers: A Love Story.”
