🇵🇸🇷🇺 ANTI-RUSSIA SANCTIONS AND NON-RECOGNITION OF PALESTINE COMPARED

I haven't mentioned this before but the war in Ukraine and the sanctions on Russia have pretty much torn our country's already-bankrupt pandemic economy to pieces and set it on fire. Russia is one of our main trade partners and every single key economic sector has been decimated. The fuel crisis is so bad that we're now having 7 hour power cuts and we don't know whether we'll have enough fuel to power the country at all by next week. Transport services have been disabled, there's no gas or kerosene for our stoves. People are going bankrupt and starving and suicides are spiking. If Putin doesn't stop soon so the rest of the world can lift the sanctions and blockades, I don't know what will happen to my country.
Mum is still recovering from covid, and my savings are currently keeping us afloat. But I don't know whether she'll be able to find fuel to go to work every day, or if patients will come, or how she will work without power for half the day. I'm being supported on alimony payments from my ex, and Im terrified his advertising company will go under. I'm afraid of my meds not arriving at the pharmacies and not having money to buy them.
There's a saying from the Kikuyu people of Kenya - "when elephants fight, it's the grass that suffers". This is what it means to be a poor and dependent country. Bad enough we have to deal with the fascist megalomaniac we elected ourselves, but now our fate is tied to one for whom we might as well not exist.
This is not just Putin vs Ukraine. There's hundreds of millions of people within and without Russia, entire nations in Asia, Africa and South America who have already been devastated by covid, that this war is slowly killing. The sanctions must be lifted as soon as Putin withdraws. It's going to take years, if not decades, for us to recover, the longer it goes on. No one country or person should ever, ever have this much power over the world.
Edit: This post has been retracted. I have since found that attributing Sri Lanka's Forex crisis to the war in Ukraine is misinformation.
Wealthy russian parents no longer being able to pay the fees could really hurt some private schools in the UK so there's that.
Ex-Rand Paul aide pardoned by Trump is charged with funneling Russian money into 2016 election
Jesse Benton faces between 5 and 20 years in prison if convicted
Analysis: Only the financial equivalent of unleashing a nuclear arsenal will dent Russia’s foreign assets war chest
“The western powers have quickly realised that unless they are willing to fire the financial equivalent of a nuclear arsenal, Putin has made sure Russia is largely immune, at least in the short term. Over a decade, Kremlin policy has carefully reduced domestic public and private sector debt and allowed the central bank time to build a war chest of foreign assets large enough to shore up the countries finances for months, if not years. This means that the sanctions put in place over the past couple of days by the EU, US, UK, Japan and Canada are unlikely to have any significant effect on the Russian economy or its financial stability.”
Looking at Russia billionaire Oleg Deripaska, I can see why Senator Chuck Schumer wants to continue sanctioning him.
A successful businessman who achieved greatness under terrible circumstances, all on his own, created several major companies, expanded several domestic industries and remains committed to the country that holds his primary businesses. Not to mention, helping the FBI attempt to rescue one of their agents in Iran using his own contacts and money from 2007-11.
None of which applies to Chuck Schumer...
Trump is literally serving only himself.
Normally I’m dismissive of the ‘people sitting on a couch, watching TV’ cartoons, but since Trump gets all his information from television, this is actually appropriate.
