Marley was absolutely soaked. She didn’t know how many times she’d gone hurling down the Glow Tube trail, but did know that each time only resulted in more and more snow lodged in places she didn’t know it could even reach, despite the rented coat. Her dress had been practically sopping, frozen against her already chilled skin. As she glanced at herself in the bathroom mirror, hair a mess, nose reddened, lipstick practically nonexistent...she couldn’t help but decide that it’d been utterly worth it. Even if she had taken to drying off her dress with the bathroom hand dryer.
The freshly dried fabric hung over the back of the door, the woman standing in the single occupant restroom in just the slip she’d worn underneath. Having soothed her hair back into place, she’d just finished a new coat of lipstick when the sound of the door opening caught her attention. Had she not locked the door? “Oh, someone’s in here--” She called with no real sense of urgency, eyes falling back to the mirror to touch up the corner of her mouth. His presence was more felt than it was seen in the doorway, gaze lifting from the reflection of her lips to the pair of blue eyes staring back at her in the mirror.
“On second thought, I am gonna need someone to help zip me back up.”
