HE WOULD NEVER REGRET what he did for bucky. even though it had started out with him refusing to signing the accords, it had quickly bloomed into him wanting to make certain that bucky had been proved innocent of the crimes the world wanted him imprisoned for. no one had wanted to listen to him, no one wanted to understand that he'd spent weeks looking for bucky after dc and hadn't been successful. they'd all been focused on those damn accords and controlling the avengers no matter what. "nothing." how could he put it to make bucky understand? steve had proven just how much he was willing to give up for his friend. how could he have any sort of regrets? "old man? look who's talking, jerk," he teased in return, the smile on his face the first honest thing to happen since they'd been in wakanda. and it was a reminder of his friend and the times they used to share together.
