Friends! Can anyone help me identify this lovely tree? I’ve been enchanted by them ever since I came to Kalamazoo for the medieval conference (and have taken many pictures of them).

you’re in MI! how is it treating you? also is that the variety of pear tree that smells like a mix between rotting fish and week old laundry because if so...i’m so sorry most of our native flora smells much nicer)

It’s been treating me well, thanks! A bit cold compared to Florida, but I like the change.

And I haven’t noticed a bad smell even when I put my nose right up to the flowers. I think it’s the Bradford Pear tree that smells so horrid, but I could be mistaken.
