This. ❤️ I’m not sure I can put into words what this experience means to me. I fell in love with dirt track racing when I was 16. I’d take my lil bro to the track every Friday night. It was our escape from our awful home life. I’d always say I wanted to drive one of those cars! Then, between the time I was diagnosed with cancer and I started treatment, I talked to a therapist who helped me get my mind right. I wanted so desperately for her to tell me I was going to be ok. But she didn’t, instead she told me if there were things on my bucket list still... now was the time. And as she said that, this came to mind. I’ve always wanted to drive a dirt track race car. It’s always been at the top of my bucket list. And then the weekend before I started treatment the fam and I went to watch the World of Outlaw Sprint cars one last time. They’re my absolute favorite dirt track cars. Just so bada$$! And as we were leaving that night I just kept saying... We’ll be back again. Even tho I knew I had a huge obstacle to overcome first. Which brings me to this. I’m back! This time I’m not just watching but I get to drive a World of Outlaw Sprint car! It was one of the most exhilarating, thrilling , and exciting things I’ve experienced! And the adrenaline rush I got when my spotter came over the radio and said “Number 7, you’re green!” Eek! So yesterday was one of those days I’ll never forget. An experience I’ll keep tucked away in my heart forever. I checked off the biggest and most bada$$ thing I had on my bucket list. This is what dreams are made of. This is what makes life worth living! It didn’t matter that I was the only girl there racing a car. Or that I was the only one who picked the Sprint car. All that mattered was I was living my dream! And it was so freaking awesome! ❤️ #rustywallaceracingexperience #rwre #livingthedream
