Thoughts on this drawing about Conan attending Ran's wedding

I moved it here because I guess it's more of me blabbering than anything really.

Drawing some angst about Shinichi letting go and attending Ran’s wedding has always been on my bucket list

And I absolutely wanted a parallel scene of the phone thing they have between each other in I believe Movie 1 (don’t hit me pls I can’t remember well jk)

I’m mostly trying to show the story and the contrast between the wedding and Conan/Shinichi’s feelings. Shinichi/Conan letting go yet still holding on. Perhaps this is actually Shinichi/Conan already having let go, but seeing it for real hit him hard that he tears up.

This is me trying to figure out the mood and flow.

And truth to be told, I’m not really happy with the flow of the story - It felt too empty for something that should be sad. I tried with the contrast with Ran’s and Conan’s reaction in the 4th panel (where they’re back to back) with Ran kinda screaming or shouting in rage and heartbroken because this girl has waited so long only to hear that she shouldn’t anymore. That hurts.

The only thing I’m happy about is Ran - I absolutely happy with how she looks and her hair is my favorite part, playing with black and white. I kinda wish I could do more for Ran and make her prettier - but I tried and basically this is the result. Anything more from me ruins it.

I had fun playing around with black and white but not satisfied with the feels. If I did somehow made you tear up or sad, then honestly that’s a solid pat on the back for me because I don’t feel like the intensity of the scene in my head was properly conveyed

I had a tough time deciding what to draw and well, I kinda did them all haha - from sight seeing, eating okonomiyaki, solving murder cases?!, and having a sleepover!

It was absolutely wonderful working with Nobody!! It's SO MUCH FUN working out the story together and I'm grateful for how in sync (hah!) we were. I drew so much more than I planned to because of how much we hype each other up haha. Please get ready to be swept away by her writing because it is a ride indeed in

TIMELINE NOTES(because I spent too much time on this haha):

6:30 am - Heiji arrives. Breakfast at Shinichi's + gotta get ready

8 am - Leave house

11:10 am - Lunch place + dead body

5 pm - Finally arrive at goal for sunset

8:30 pm - back to Tokyo

No - Heiji absolutely did not plan for the dead body. He is trying to be a good friend and return Shinichi back early so he can rest ;w;

Look Heiji just wanna drag his friend out on a day trip just to chill out ya know - gotta take a break and have fun! They've discussed about having a day trip like this soon!
