Retired (Sarge x Red!Reader)
So many years, wars, problems, and everything deserved to come to a proper end. It was difficult going back to civilian life, but it was relaxing.
Maybe you missed all the different bases, your armor, and the adventure, but it was okay since you finally had a chance to relax.
Sarge looked like he really missed everything, well, it was obvious since most of his life was in the military.
Now, you watched your kids running in the backyard, being chased by their father. you smiled, remembering how Grif would mock Sarge by saying he was more the grandfather than their actual dad, due to the age difference between you two. You watched as Sarge caught one of your sons, lifting him in the air, and kept chasing the other one. Until your smallest son fell to the dusty ground on his face.
You frowned, already walking towards the door that leads to the backyard, watching as Sarge put your eldest son down to check on the other. His face was covered in dirt and he had a small scratch on his knee, a wet path of tears down his face.
“Hey, talk to me, young private.”, Sarge whipped his tears, trying to see if he was okay. “Where does it hurts?” He touched your youngest son’s leg, and the kid flinched, crying louder.
You kneeled in front of your child, the eldest was still at your husband’s back, watching curiously while the other kept crying.
“Sweetie? Let’s clean you up.” You picked your son up, heading back to the kitchen, grabbing a wet cloth to clean his face from the dirt and the blood from his knee.
Sarge soon joined you, carrying your eldest son on his arms.
“Is he okay?” He asked with a frown while holding the other.
“He is. It’s nothing (Your son’s name) can’t handle, right, young Private?” You smiled, staring down at your child, who gave you a pained smile as he hopped down the chair, getting back to playing with his brother all around the house.
“Can’t get tired of ‘em!” Your husband chuckled, leaning to kiss your forehead. “Those little reds, they fall, they cry, they play.”
“They kind of remind me of Grif and Simmons.” You bit your lip.
“In Sam’s heaven! Don’t say that! Ours are better than those dirtbags!”
You couldn’t help but laugh, leaning to kiss his cheek. “Just wait ‘till they are teenagers, Then let’s see what happens.”
“We have years ahead of us. And I want to enjoy them with my two little soldiers and my wife. No! Wait! Got a better idea! What about a little girl?”
“A little girl?” You cocked your eyebrow, surprised by his suggestion.
Sarge nodded. “A girl! We must make our family bigger! A little girl would help us a lot. She would kick her brother’s asses if she learns from you! She could even kick Grif’s ass!”
All you could do was smile widely and nod, despite all the adventures you had, now it was time for another, and maybe the retirement was one of the best things that could have to happen to you.
