it’s crazy how consistent of a theme avoiding responsibility/the reality of the present was in season 16. like across grif tucker AND carolina they were all trying to deny doing what they should be doing… and we can tie sarge into that too with him desperately trying to give himself MORE responsibility. and all of that can easily be tied into time travel. escaping from your present responsibilities either into the better days of the past OR through running from your past mistakes... god you can even tie it into donut if you wanted to. he’s being given a false responsibility and like interpersonally him BEING the reality of the present with how flamboyant he is. you can’t deny donut. he’s too loud. he’s too much. try to repress him all you want and he WILL shine through. he doesn’t die he doesn’t stay gone. he is the reminder of the things you have to do. of the way you treated him. of the reality you’re denying.
but like. none of this was even slightly relevant lmao.
