so if genkins is...and chrovos is...have i been saying i want to fuck genkins all this time?
ok, now that i've calmed down a little bit, lemme try to write some of my thoughts about the shisno paradox trilogy
in few words: i had fun! it was a fun time! did i like it, though? i mean, it depends, really. if i'm looking at it as a whole, then it's definitely my lowest ranked batch of seasons (and i'm pretty sure i'm in the majority here, but what do i know). the whole time traveling thing was fun, but it was...strange, at first, like it didn't quite fit into the rvbverse (i mean, yeah they did the whole fake time traveling in s3, and wyoming could actually manipulate time for a bit, but like...idk, it hit different, y'know?). maybe the whole gods thing was very out of place? idk, it was tough to get into it, but i ended up having fun, which is what matters!
individually, it's a different story. i loved 15, i absolutely adored temple--and no, not just because i'm a nostalgic church stan--, and dylan and jax were great characters to have around, i enjoyed them a lot! the emotional beats in this season were SOLID (grif's character development, temple's sad backstory, that WONDERFUL knife simmons scene), so i really ended up liking it by the end of it.
16 was...16 was a bit rough, ngl. it had a very slow start, cause we got into the whole time traveling thing and it was...weird, a bit. i really think it was the whoke gods thing, it's always a bit jarring if you drop "gods" into a sci-fi setting. but the season got better as it went along, and BOY did it have one of the most exciting moments with that donut/o'malley fight! but it was definitely the lowest point of the three seasons, for me.
(ok but this season had one of the stupidest and funniest bits in it, and that's the movie subplot, which i LOVED. also the mockumentary episode was one of the best don't @ me)
and then we got to s17 and...it was short! but exciting! i LOVED seeing donut in the spotlight, honestly one of the best things to come out of this trilogy was his character development. doc had some AMAZING development as well ("oh, he wishes" OK KING), and i loved seeing how far wash and carolina have come. also this season was the nostalgia season, and i'm so grateful for that. it was so much fun going back to all those iconic moments (and seeing THE FREELANCERS!) and it made the whole time traveling thing worth it. of course, i loved/hated genkins, which is great, gimme a villain i'm not indifferent about!
also, kai was absolutely amazing throughout the whole thing, i love her.
so yeah! those are my thoughts about the shisno paradox! what are you guys' toughts?
IT’S THE POWER OF MOTHERFUCKING
