Second time 7 years/85000 miles that some rear wheel studs broke. Glad I could find parts nearby and DIY in a couple hours. Death Valley is a beautiful, expansive place, but not a place you want to be in a 60+ mph wind storm. . We experienced two terrible dust and rock windstorms in the Furnace Creek area. A few days later we saw multiple dirt devils going across Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes. . The entire front facing section of the Jeep was blasted and the windshield has multiple cracked and is permanently peppered. We came back the motorhome and found a thick layer of dirt and sand on and in everything. After the first round of cleaning, we decided to move the motorhome to face the wind for the second windstorm on its way from the other direction. That's when we found the back slide would not come in. The gears and motor are probably jammed with sand.
