4th of July Fun Fun Fun
Alright we have the low down on all the awesome events going on this year for the 4th of July. Depending on where you’re at in the valley you might want to check a few things out!
FIREWORK EXTRAVAGANZA
RED WHITE & BOOM! is the biggest firework show in Southern Oregon - sponsored by the City of Central Point and Red Robin of Medford. Five bands will perform live before and after the show. Make sure you look for the official RED WHITE & BOOM! Instagram photographers, they will be there to take your pics! Later, fireworks will light up the night sky in tune to great music. It’s going to be a great night! http://redwhiteandboom.info/
OOOHHH PARADES!!
Central Point will hold their annual 4th of July parade downtown starting at 9:30 am. The city offers more than just a parade though. They have a mix of fun things going on to celebrate Independence Day. Boy Scout Troop 7 is servin’ up some pancakes at the Central Point Grange at 7 am. If you’re a runner or want to cheer on your running friends check out the 5k race at 7:30 am on East Pine Street. And right before the streets are filled with people parading, join in on the chalk art and BUBBLE fun in the street. Really though, what is the 4th without bubbles?
Eagle Point also has a parade, a fun run, fireworks, and vendors. Oh boy, who are you going to choose!? Boy Scouts will be cookin’ up breakfast at 7 am, the fun run/walk starts at 7 am, and the 1 mile/5k starts at 8 am. The parade begins at 11 am where judges will decide who brought their A game this year. Vendor booths open at 9 am and the entertainment beings in the wee morning hours starting at 10 am. OH SNAP! There is a USAF Jet Flyover at 10:45 am. The firework show starts at dusk, which sounds like a reasonable to start.
Now that we have established what the Points are doing in the valley we will move forward.
Ashland hosts a grand parade every year! It starts at 10:15 am which will march on down Siskiyou Boulevard. Seats are tricky to get though, you have to arrive very early if you want a good one. Check out their 37th annual 4th of July Run. There is a 10k race for the hardcore and a 2 mile race for anyone who wants to take it easy. Both races start at 7:45 am. Enjoy live music, food, and games around 10am – 4 pm. Then you can check out the American Band College Fireworks Concert at 8 pm. Watch fireworks soar into the night sky around 10 pm which can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. Sounds like a fun filled day! http://vimeo.com/47612279
Get outa here!
Lake of the Woods will hold their annual 4th of July Celebration. Check out the Rogue Suspects as they jam out on the lake and tasty BBQ. The firework show starts at 10pm. Ooooh fireworks over the lake! Check out movie night on the 5th. Colonel Mustard will play live on the 6th accompanied by another delicious BBQ. To wrap up your weekend on the 7th, check out live music from B Wishes at lodge. This sounds like a pleasant weekend filled with old fashion fun! http://www.lakeofthewoodsresort.com/calendar.php
So Close!
The countdown is on! Only one day left until the biggest firework show in Southern Oregon. Are you ready to watch the sky light up?
