she can feel herself shrinking against the background of her store. part of her knows that he is speaking more to himself than her. sara had never been one to open up —- especially about the centuries of ghosts in her past. but he was different. he could feel her heart turn to stone in her chest, weighing down heavily against her rib cage. he made her chest hurt. sara could see the waves of sadness ripple from his shoulders like a dark and angry ocean.
