Even now she hadn’t learned how to drop her shield, to cease the fight within her.
A slow smile curved on lips stained in red as her eyes slowly turned to the male standing next to her. The one person who managed to become a constant in the world she called her life. “A drink, I remember I once thought coffee would be enough to get by in this lifestyle.” She hummed as she returned her gaze to the horizon. There was a time she had assumed people drank to celebrate and to forget.
