“you know what that is wait, what is the word the uhm. thingy. MIDGARDIANS use. what was it.” in case it wasn’t general knowledge, a God impatiently and repeatedly smacking his glass with an olive on a toothpick while pondering vocabulary issues does become quite annoying after a while.
“MOOD. that’s what it is.”
Hovers close to her lunch and looks up at her expectantly.
there’s a slightly annoyed sigh as she glances at him, taking a long moment before picking a piece of chicken out of her salad and tossing it in the air for him.
“ that’s all you’re getting so don’t get too excited. ”

At first he thought there would be an offering of food. He was accustomed to taking treats by hand. Beak opened as he stared at Loki until he spotted that finger didn't have a morsel on it. Oh well. Red shut his mouth and lowered his head a little, glancing between the finger and Loki's face. A peep. A rustle of feathers; but he was otherwise still as he ducked his head down for pets.
there’s a soft chuckle at the bird’s confusion, proceeding to pet it’s head gently. it was more than obvious this bird wasn’t just a wild hawk; he belonged to someone. he’s more than curious as to who. “ who do you belong to? “ he inquires, though he knows there won’t be an actual answer.
He hopped over onto his arm and contemplated on what to poke at first. Options!!! He didn’t understand how or why the metal bits showed up, but he was happy about all of it. He chirped and bounced on Loki’s arm, hardly able to contain his excitement.
loki was genuinely amused by this bird. he grins, watching, almost fascinated by it. “ did i overwhelm you? you’ve got lots to pick from now, don’t you. “ slowly, carefully he lifts his free hand, palm facing inwards with only his index finger extended--not even fully. he was testing to see if the hawk would allow him to pet it.
The hawk stops for a second and tilts his head. He considers Loki with one very large eye before lightly tapping at the metal bit again. This was amusing to him, mostly for the sound it made, and gold was a pretty color.
“ you seem to be enjoying yourself. “ he comments after the hawk tapped the metal on his armor again. he conjures his full armor, holding an arm up for the bird to perch on. now there’s lots more shiny gold metal for the bird to play with.
The bird swoops in, ever curious about the shiny gold bits on his person. He taps his beak lightly against them and peeps a half dozen times.
he’ll allow the bird to approach, watching it carefully. there’s amusement that twists its way onto his lips, a chuckle leaving the god. “ might i help you? “
This lab coat fits funny. I don’t think I can fly in it. Is this necessary for science?
It’s not necessary for science or even prolonged use. It is necessary to wear for just a moment so that Darcy can snap a picture and post it to her story on Instagram.
“You are the best bird. The coolest bird.”
She does make him a little lanyard for his name badge, though.
