For the twins necklaces, txffnut and I have a headcanon that they are from their grandfather; both from the same dragon. They were passed down to them and as long as each has it their bond is strong. Idk man it sounds better in my head.
IM INTO ITimagine if theres an ep in season three where ruff like, looses her necklace. the chord became loose and it slipped off during some flight but she didn't notice until later, and the twins are going CRAZY looking for it and everyone is confused and exasperated at the fuss they're making about it - because the twins never make a fuss about anything - and hiccup's like "ruff we can just find u a new necklace" and the twins both snap at him like "you dont get it" . and maybe barf/belch is the one who ends up finding it caught on a tree branch in the middle of the forest. idk. its cute. :)
