Household 18 - Katherine's birthday doesn't quite go according to plan
It's time for Katherine to celebrate her birthday. Nathan arranges the party. He invites tons of teens, but not Katherine's best friends, Elle, Helo and Ares, who are still kids.
Everyone is hanging out outside at dusk, while Katherine is just hoping to blow out her candles and get this over with. (Clearly I need that mod for children to throw their own parties.)
A random strike of lightning from a brief amount of rain lights up a corner of the gazebo, terrifying the teen guests.
Fire fighters are called, but naturally Liz isn't going to wait while the dangerous fire could spread. Not when responsible for so many teens.
Matthew also jumps into action. A good thing to, as the first thing he puts out is Liz, who got too close to the flames in her efforts.
Finally they manage to get the blaze under control. The teens head inside, remembering they are there for a birthday. All in all, a memorable event!
"Oh my Watcher! Liz, you could have died!! Are you sure you're alright? You are quite singed." Matthew embraced his beloved wife.
"I'm fine. I'm fine. Let's go celebrate Katherine."
"We'll head in for her cake, but you're going to the hospital straight after to make sure you are okay."

Household 18 - The Hunt family in Three Lakes
While things were going well on the work side of the Hunt family's trip to Three Lakes, they were going even better on the holiday side.
Nathan was really enjoying playing with his younger siblings.
"Will you take us skating?" Ryan asked.
"Sure thing, buddy. This afternoon."
Liz was pleased to see her kids having such a good time, but her thoughts for her vacation were focused on the fun she wanted to have with her husband, even while doing chores.
"I'm the fastest skater in the universe!" Ryan yelled as he raced Nathan and Katherine around the rink.
"No you aren't! I am," Katherine yelled back.
With the kids off enjoying themselves, Liz and Matthew found some more opportunities to have holiday fun.

The next morning, the family spent some time outside.
“Hey Dad, what’s that over there?” Ryan asked.
“What’s over where?” Matthew couldn’t figure out what his son was referring to.
*Paf*
“It’s a snowball!” Ryan informed him. His aim had been perfect.
The two started pelting each other with snow. Ryan was much better at it than Matthew, who couldn’t remember the last time he had had a snowball fight.
Meanwhile Katherine was busy making a snow man. It had been a long time since they had had a good snowfall in Huntsville. She was thrilled to be able to tramp around in snow up to her knees.
After playing outside for a while, Ryan started to really feed the cold.
“Ryan! You’re practically blue.” Matthew had told the boy a sweater wasn’t enough in this weather, but hadn’t insisted. “Go inside. Change into something cozy and have a sit by the fire.”
Once in his warm jammies, Ryan did warm up by the fire his Dad set for him.
Then he spent the afternoon inside, warming up and writing in his diary.
“Don’t look!” he told Katherine as she walked past.
“I won’t...this time!” Katherine stuck her tongue out at her younger brother as she went outside.
“You two should be wearing warmer clothes out here,” Matthew commented as he, Liz and Katherine sat by a firepit outside. The snow had been cleared from it.
“And you. Are you sure wearing a suit in this weather makes sense?” Liz asked.
“What else would I wear?” Matthew was befuddled by the question.

Spring - Days 1-3, Household 18: Matthew & Liz; Nathan, Katherine, Ryan Hunt. Marylena Hamilton
18 Households in and you finally have the pleasure of meeting the Heir and his family.
Matthew Hunt is the Heir. He did not inherit this through the path intended by founders, Matt & Nicole Hunt. Rather than being the first son of the first son of the first son, he was the first son of the second son of the second son. Andrew Hunt’s death just as he was about to graduate and take on the heirship, something that happened almost 50 years ago, has influenced Matthew’s life and the history of Huntsville and Nickelton.
At 44, he is a high powered lawyer, a happy Popularity/Fortune Sim, married to the love of his life, and close with his siblings and his children.
Liz, a year older than Matthew, is the perfect match for a man under so much pressure. She excels in her career in music, practicing on the violin daily. She supports her husband. She’s there for her children and her siblings. And she also values what the heirship means to Matthew and to the people in their community.
Their oldest son, Nathan, at 14, wears his inheritance uncomfortably on his shoulders. He’s a Pleasure Seeker, which is not fundamentally incompatible with his family’s plan for him, but is not an easy lock either.
He can only hope his father lives a long life, then perhaps he can pursue his own interests, rather than his family’s.
Katherine is the middle child. 7 years old, she loves playing basketball with her father and spending time in her awesome room.
Ryan, at 3, is too young to understand what it means to be the spare. He gets his name from his uncle, Ryan, who refused to take on the mantle, in the hopes that it will never fall to him.
Though Matthew and Liz both spend a lot of time with their family, they need the freedom not to worry if someone will be home with Ryan or when school let’s out for Katherine. Marylena Hamilton has the pleasure of being the live-in Nanny. A Family Sim, she’s putting her income aside in the hopes of having a family of her own one day.

The Hunts had recently moved into an even larger estate. One suitable for the newly established heir and their position in Huntsville and Nickelton.
Matthew and Liz were extremely supportive of one another.
Matthew - Hello, people of Huntsville and Nickelton. Thank you for coming to the grand opening of the new Huntsville Community Park. I’m thrilled to see so many faces, come together to celebrate, Human and Alien. For a time, the intermixing of such a group was viewed negatively. For a time, it was even banned. No more.
Matthew - We know that the differences between Human and Alien are so minor, they are hardly worth talking about. We are all the same, on the inside. We all deserve the best possible community. That is what we want, in Huntsville and Nickelton. That is what we deserve.
Liz listened to Matthew’s speech, preparing to give him feedback so that he could do his absolute best.
Matthew - We have a bright future, all of us together!
After a few comments from Liz, Matthew continued to rehearse his speech so that it would be perfect while Liz stayed near him and worked on teaching their son to speak.
