Ryan Presley — One Day This Will All Be Yours (oil, synthetic gold and 23k gold leaf on poly cotton, 2022)
Banknotes are an important way of representing a nation's history and identity. They invite us to recall the past and to imagine the future. For that reason, artists have been drawn to them as a way to contemplate alternative histories and national narratives and to challenge existing ones.
