languages are so silly i love them all for their stupidity . like english. i love english for its idiocy. i love its lack of phonetically regularity. i love how wonder and ponder don’t rhyme. i love how rough bough dough through thorough etc are all pronounced so differently despite having the same letters. i love the unnecessary amount of synonyms. same goes for french. i love how french rarely pronounces the last letter in their words. i love how ‘plus’ is only pronounced like plus in a specific context and pronounced ‘plu’ otherwise. i love how in spoken french ‘je suis’ just straight up becomes ‘shwee.’ these are such silly things and are incredibly painful to memorize but to me learning a language is like that one defunctland quote. i hate learning languages but the only thing i hate more than that is Not learning a language
