The R-121 is about halfway between the center and the edge of the speaker cone, a good position for warm, crunchy, heavy guitar tracks. The closer to the center of the speaker the mic is, the brighter the response - the further from the center, the darker the response. The second mic is a Microtech Geffell. The two mics were recorded to separate tracks so the Microtech could be blended in with the R-121 for extra brightness.
