I worked at a place that gives trail rides this summer, and conformation wise our horses were pretty shitty, too. It's because they couldn't afford 'nicely built' horses, so they settled for the downhill, sickle hocked, sway backed ones. :/ No me gusta.
I got all my horses for 0-100 bucks and they are mostly conformationally correct xD haha You can find some really nice cheap horses on Craigslist. Most are underweight though.. Like when I got my mare she looked like she had terrible conformation but I got her anyway because it made me sad seeing the condition she was in.
And then she picked up weight and muscle and looks amazing
