The first time I met MLS he told me he did video work. I recall speaking about how I felt that what the most important thing about capturing real life on film is knowing when the bright moments are and understanding them to a degree that you film what's REALLY going on. It's a somewhat mystical occurrence the same way great photographers capture very special shots that mean so much more than the others. I found out after seeing Mike's work that he has the gift of sight I was thinking about, and has had it for some time. "Knee Braces" is simply the greatest thing I have ever done. If I died tomorrow this is the video I would want people to watch. The melody came to me many years ago and I never knew why until I met Laura Ortman and later on created The 12 Houses. The 12 Houses is meant to feature very special and unique musicians like her. Windows Have Eyes captured the moment of my greatest musical creation as I set up an environment for Laura to tell a story unlike any other about both the futility and triumph of the human experience. The moment literally walks the line between life and death. Thanks for being there WHE and MLS!    -Matt Lavelle
