Voices Episode 32: Ryan Voyles on local efforts to offer assistance for Hurricane Florence

In this episode of Voices, entertainment columnist Tim Cain talks with reporter Ryan Voyles on what locals are doing to offer assistance to those affected by hurricane-turned-tropical storm Florence, which has caused mass flooding and damage across North and South Carolina. The two talk about the best ways people in Central Illinois can help, and what some relief specialists say is the less than ideal ways to offer assistance.

I found three of these model trains at the thrift store and had to pick them up.  I had never seen the brand before but they are Athearn HO scale model trains.

The amount of detail on the train is amazing.  The one posted above is classified as an observation car with the wrap around windows and rounded end. 

The sad part is that I'm selling them on eBay.  Too much clutter around the house already.

Labor Day weekend Cyntia and I went to Chickasaw State Park outside of Henderson, TN.  While the weather wasn't great, there were some fun attractions at the park.  Along with copious amounts of grilled meat, we swam in the lake and also rented paddle boats.  The park was developed as a Civilian Conservation Corp project.
