The Worst Witch actually came way before Harry Potter! I used to love those books as a kid. There have been several shows of it and a movie. :)

anyways, they were books too?? This is fantastic! I am really, really curious about how this remake compares or the original materials now. There were just a lot of similarities to HP, like they’re in a castle, the MC didn’t know she was magic just like Harry, her “nemesis” is a blonde girl who acts a lot like Draco, the potions teacher is basically Snape bc you never know which side she’s on and she’s got it out for the MC (although she’s way cooler than Snape ever was).

But it’s still super cute! And I want Enid’s parents to come back because they were so cool...

It’s so counterproductive! Even half a fic I will never finish is better than no fic. I know this but at the same time I just... can’t.

Almost 2:00 in the morning, and Zach is staring at the ceiling as the sweat cools on his skin when Chris rolls over, kisses his temple, and whispers, “What if we went to get tacos right now?”

Zach almost laughs at him, but he can’t deny the way his heart leaps at such a cinematic notion. It’s like something that would happen in a rom-com. The post-coital lovers require sustenance, drive too fast through the Hollywood hills searching for a 24-hour taco stand. So he climbs out of bed and starts pulling on his clothes, throws Chris’s shirt at his head and smiles when it makes him giggle. He palms Chris’s ass on the way out the door, but it’s his heart that’s pounding when Chris turns and kisses him on more time, pushing his still-damp hair back off his brow.

Chris does drive too fast. Zach rolls the window down and watches the lights blur together and wonders if he’s losing his mind, because he’s never felt like this before, not even close. When he reaches blindly for Chris, Chris takes a hand off the wheel and links their fingers. They find their taco stand, and Chris ends up with salsa all over his shirt and Zach snorts Diet Pepsi through his nose. So maybe it’s not a perfect movie moment. It’s better.

Yes! The books were more kid orientated than HP, as far as I can remember, but I loved them and used to reread them all the time growing up. I’m sure JK must have taken at least a little inspiration from them because, yes, lots of similarities! I’m curious about this new remake now…

Oh yeah, she definitely pulled some inspiration from them for sure! But no such thing as too many magical schools in ancient castles tbh. And this one is all ladies! Although I am VERY curious about wizards in this universe... hm. Anyway, if Netflix stops being stupid, you should watch it! You’ll probably appreciate it more than I do.

Gah, I know exactly what you mean about the WIP stress. Unfortunately I can’t seem to get things done unless I post as I go and get support/feedback/cheerleading. :

I think that’s normal actually :) I’m usually the same but with my last fic I had a rough 2 months in the middle, and I felt so terrible that everyone doing the amazing support/feedback/cheerleading had to wait so excruciatingly long for an update. I’m hoping I recover and I can go back to WIPs though, because they are fun in a way :)

I went to wonder woman for the second time today and I cried for half the movie. First time around I was more mesmerised and shocked, but now I just. Couldn’t stop sobbing.

It’s so weird right? I knew there would be a ‘sad’ part, but I wasn’t expecting the rest of it to make me so emotional.

So true. 100% so well worded.I was the same way.It blew my mind so hard

I knew it would be different and I knew I would love it, but I had no idea that—plot aside—it was going to make me experience this level of emotion. So yeah, mind blown :)

Good to know so many others felt the same. Let’s hope this is a turning point for filmmaking :)
