My little autistic OC daughter
Vilena Baturina, 12y.o. she/her, Russian, female. Special interest: 🦋
Vilena ( rus: Вилена) or just V. This name sounds so melodic to me, but its meaning… it turned out to be a Soviet abbreviation meaning "Vladimir Ilyich Lenin" lol. It appeared in the post-revolutionary era and belongs to the category of ideological names symbolizing devotion to the ideas of socialism. V doesn’t understand what socialism is, who is Lenin and why she is called by his name. Maybe she will bring revolutionary ideas too, who knows?
She is a nonverbal autistic girl, her special interest is butterflies. She likes to wear bug-shaped hair clips because they give her a little comfort by putting a little pressure on her hair and help her remember that she has a head.
The problem is that Vilena has a very poor sense of space. So she always punches walls, furniture, and even herself to figure out where she is at any given moment. Her brain is completely incapable of analyzing space and her own body. Striking objects and body parts causes pressure and mild pain, which trigger her brain and allows it to quickly construct a map in her mind. But to others it looks like she is either blind or an aggressive kid who craves violence :(
Only her older brother Yuriy knows about this, and he tries to teach her to safely explore new places with the help of a stuffed toy or a cane.
