Inktober // Day 1 – “ELDEST”
Surprisingly, my girl Ryou beats Ume by 8 whole years, making her my eldest character at 45. She looks good for her age, doesn’t she?

Happy New Year!
I don’t have a lot to say for this post. 2015 was a year full of surprises. It started out pretty bad, but turned out to be a pretty good year. There were a lot of challenges, some of which I’ve overcome. I’ve gotten a lot better at writing Kanji. I’ve improved my reading a fair bit (mainly hiragana and katakana). I was able to start playing my trombone again. And was I able to be more productive overall. I’m nowhere near satisfied with my performance. I never will be, but I’ll try to be content and steadily improve.
It’s hard to believe this is my 90th post. Thanks for all your support, guys. Believe it or not, this blog has really helped me to improve my writing and express myself. It gives me a place where I can just be myself and talk about anything I need to. I may not know what’s bothering me until I write a post. I may also still not know after, but I always feel a little bit better.
Now, where do we go from here? I’m currently working on a gaming console for Junior design that I haven’t put enough priority on. The one aspect of prioritizing my tasks I have trouble with is duration. I’ll tell myself that I’m going to do Japanese in the morning and play my horn in the afternoon. There’s time in between unless I spend too much time doing my Japanese. When I actually work on the console, I pretty much do nothing else that day. So I’ve still got some issues to work out, but I’ll get there eventually.
I’ll either get a new microphone or keep recording at Justin’s. I’m going to do better in school. I’m going to try to continue my Japanese lessons and play my trombone during the school year. I’m going to try to get an internship, so I can gain useful experience and hopefully money over the summer. I’ve never been good with change. I’m better now, but there are some things I still don’t want to change; like having my laptop on the kitchen table instead of in my room (I don’t want to be hulled up in my room all day). Changes can help make improvements, but I think I might not see how they make those improvements.
There’s a lot of stuff I want to do, but I can’t do it all at once. I need to understand myself better. I do some things that I really don’t understand. And I don’t like things I don’t understand. Everything should just make sense, I guess. I know that I’m still learning and still maturing. I’m a lot better than I was a year ago. Life would be unbearably boring if there were no challenges. I’ll always strive to do my best, but sometimes I give myself unnecessary obstacles.
Now, how do we bring in the New Year?
