Just read another summary of the KnK scene in the new El-Melloi which says it’s Mikiya and Mana talking in their house when a letter from Touko arrives addressed to “Ryougi Mikiya” (so he took Shiki’s family name).
That’s like the third different version of the scene I’ve read about so I don’t know what actually occurs beyond that they’re definitely in the novel.
