HUGS & KISSES SENTENCE STARTERS : currently closed !
HAESOO LEARNS NOT to question it.
it’s hard at first because he’s such a damn curious person; why is the sky always blue? why is jamie always so quiet? why does he now, out of all times, want a damn hug? but he doesn’t mind because haesoo is quite a touching person –– literally, so when those words immediately escapes the other’s lips, haesoo’s head pops out from behind the illuminating screen of his cell phone as his brows raise in surprise.
“ come there and what –– ? ” haesoo replies back as his tone practically drip of amusement, his lips begin to curl into a teasing smile before shrugging in nonchalance. “ you know, you’re way nicer when we started becoming friends. it’s actually kind of scary. ”
it’s somewhat of a joke, somewhat of the truth because haesoo likes this side of jamie, open and welcoming rather than the jamie that he was used to with uncomfortable silence that usually filled the air instead of their usual banter.
but in the midst of all of this, haesoo gets up and stalks his way over towards the other male with light and easy steps, immediately wrapping an arm around jamie’s shoulder in compromise. it’s warmth that settles upon the other’s shoulders but also on haesoo’s arm because he tightens around jamie and doesn’t plan on letting go.
“ you know i’ll always give you free hugs, jamie-ssi. you just gotta speak up more, you know? ”
“Everyone’s looking at me funny when I ask if they’ve seen a zombie anywhere.”

“ AND NOT BECAUSE you’re carrying around a toy bat around –– ? ” haesoo asks genuinely, turning towards the other to give a rather amused before raising a brow in surprise. “ or the fact that they’re talking to jamie jung, pretty boy extraordinaire and idol? i’m shocked. ”
they’ve been walking around for hours now; haesoo admittedly questioning how in the world had jamie had even agreed to team up with him ( it must have been earnest persuading from sangmin or something of the sort ) but the elder could admit that he’s finding some new found respect in searching for stickers with the other male. hell, haesoo’s not even in it for the win, though the satisfaction would be nice, but it’s mostly the fact that he could use the opportunity to grow closer with idols and co-stars alike.
haesoo was starting to see a new light despite the constant chase.
experienced fingers work quickly until he’s twirling his own toy bat around casually, leisure steps in tune with the other’s as they walk through the streets in hope of finding a jackpot of stickers.
jamie sincerely doubts they’ll be that lucky but haesoo’s always had hope.
“ i’m kidding. c’mon, you don’t need people anyway. let’s go win this thing, yeah? ”
Haneul asks around with her English book for beginners. She promised she will take it seriously now, especially since she doesn't like the idea of fading into the background. Hopping and taking a small peek at G-ZER0's practice room, she scans the room before spotting the young male that she's been looking for.
"JJ!" She calls for his attention before opening the door widely and showing off the book that she's been reading in her spare time. "I'm here to study!" Then showing her other hand that holds the paper bag with food. "And to feed you too." Slipping into the practice room, hoping that no one tries to bother her while she's studying her English skills. Not like she has any. She was never that good with foreign language but she knows enough to get her around and she'll survive. "I don't know what you wanted so I got a lot." Jamie knows that Haneul is lying, she always brings a lot of food for him. Out of habit.
Back then, when he was still a trainee, Haneul can't help but watch him. He was like a lost puppy that she wanted to protect. She could remember everything so clearly. Haneul was on her way out when she decided to buy another sandwich and go around the company, spotting Jamie alone. She doesn't know what took over her that made her approach him and hand him the food. She knows the struggle, being a trainee and thinking you're not doing good enough.
"What's your name?" That was her first question back then. And it didn't stop her from asking more questions that led to her watching over Jamie like a big sister making sure her little brother was doing well in school. Haneul even shed tears when she watched G-ZER0's debut showcase then. Jamie continues to make her proud but also, he continues to pester her like a little brother would do to his older sister. In return, Haneul would ask him to do things that would put him in trouble. Teasing him that she will take no responsibility if he messes up.
Blinking as she notices she had blanked out for a second, she shows him the bag of food again with a bright smile. "Let's eat first! Then teach me while you rest. I won't bother your practice anymore after." Nodding her head slowly. "For a few hours at least."
DISPATCH, (04/05/17): Mirage Media has officially released information about visual and vocalist, Jamie Jung, also known as JJ on G-ZER0’s official website! JJ is a ‘94 liner and has been beloved by fans since his debut in 2013. Find out more about JJ below!
I, JAMIE JUNG, have read and understand the terms and conditions as my position of VISUAL AND VOCALIST and agree to honor the standards that are to be expected of me as an employee of MIRAGE MEDIA.
OOC INFORMATION
Preferred name: Dee
Pronouns: she/hers
Timezone: CST
Other muses: n/a
IC INFORMATION
Faceclaim: Lee Hyunwoo
Name: Jamie Jung
Stage name (if applicable): JJ
Idol concept: As JJ he was given the image of “shy sweetheart”. And it’s mostly true, being in front of people is something that’s difficult for him to do due to his anxiety. Although when the cameras are off and Jamie is with people he knows intimately his more goofy side manifests itself.
Birth date and age: December 12, 1994 (22)
Company name: Mirage
Group Name (if applicable): G-ZER0
Group Position (if applicable): visual & vocalist
Strengths:
+ ACTING: Although the space of an MV is usually a pretty limited space to act in Jamie takes to it pretty naturally. He generally has the least NGs in the group, a fact that he’s very proud of.
+ MUSICALITY: Jamie knows how to play several instruments: including piano, the guitar and the drums. It makes for a good skill to show off during variety shows but it also allows for him to occassionally put out fun things like a piano cover of one of G-ZER0′s songs.
+ SINGING: Although on debut Jamie was just a passable vocalist he worked hard to get his vocals to where they are today. He’s still undoubtedly better in the studio versions and when he’s standing still but he’s not nearly as shaky and breathy as he was when G-ZER0 first debuted.
Weaknesses:
- DANCING: A dancing king Jamie is not. Although he can pick up on choreography rather quickly it takes him time to refine it to a point where it actually looks good onstage. And due to his ongoing problems with back pain he often visibly lags behind the others in the group.
- SONGWRITING: As much as he would like to learn eventually he just hasn’t had the time. He can read sheet music and successfully transpose music into a different key in order to do an instrumental cover of it but that’s about as far as his knowledge extends. Put him anywhere but in the recording booth in the studio and he’ll be effectively lost.
- RAPPING: He’ll do it to elicit laughs but it’s certainly not a strength of his. He lacks both flow and the ability to come up with lyrics on the spot. Even when he knows the lyrics he still manages to get tongue-tied and trip over his words.
Positive traits: friendly, upbeat, intelligent
Negative traits: insecure, clingy, anxious
PERSONAL HISTORY
i. his home is cold, not from the new zealand weather, not because his parents lack the funds to heat it (they have money to spare, money pouring out their ears). but because he is an accident. he’s a mistake that his parents can’t take back. so they name him jamie joohyeon jung and then promptly hire someone else to look after him.
( i.i “he’s just a kid!” “you work for me and jamie is my child not yours. i will punish him how i see fit.” “maybe you should act like a mother to him then.” “you’re fired.” “no. i quit.” )
ii. ‘we never should have kept you’. he hears the hurtful phrase early and he hears it often. the smallest of mistakes brings this reaction from both the woman who calls herself his mother and the man who calls himself his father. the boy named jamie simply ducks his small head and tries not to cry. (crying is bad, crying gets him a spanking and sent to bed without dinner). he doesn’t succeed and is sent to his room for the night.
( ii.i “you did a good job in the recital today. but where are your parents, jamie?” “they’re busy today.” )
iii. jamie is nine. his nanny is tired – too tired to be driving. jamie says he’s too old for the carseat his nanny is too tired to fight him on it. he remembers the smell of burnt rubber and the sound of squealing brakes. he remembers the world spinning and then nothing…blackness. jamie wakes up in the hospital. his mother looks mildly disappointed when jamie opens his eyes. his father is no where to be seen.
( iii.i “we don’t really know why his back keeps hurting. it’s probably nerve damage of some sort.” “he’ll live.” )
iv. jamie is fine and then he is not. sometimes it’s too long spent in the confines of a car. sometimes it’s the sound of squealing brakes. sometimes it’s nothing in particular. his heart nearly beats out of his chest, his throat is dry he feels like he can’t get a proper breath of air. “panic attacks” the doctor tells him. jamie doesn’t care what the name of it is, he just wants them to stop already. he can deal with the back pain but he can’t deal with feeling like he’s about to die every time traffic is just a little too thick.
( iv.i “has anyone ever told you that you’re incredibly good-looking?” “uh…no?” “i represent a company called mirage media, we’re always looking for new talent. you should call the number on this card.” )
v. his mother doesn’t want jamie to answer the company that scouted him on the streets of new zealand. jamie wants to be anywhere but home. his father buys the plane ticket and tells him not to come back. jamie is now sixteen and all alone in the city of seoul, south korea but he’s excited. determined even. he’s so far from home and has no back-up plans but jamie wants this so badly he can almost taste it.
( v.i “my name is ja–jung jamie. please take care of me.” )
vi. ‘he’s pretty but he can’t sing and he can’t dance so what use is he really?’ ‘he keeps missing promotions, G-ZER0 is better off without him.’ ‘he’s only in the group because he speaks english.’ he smiles through the criticisms, pretending the netizen’s words don’t dig like steel spikes at his fragile skin. he spends more time in the practice room. (longer than the maximum amount of time his contract says he should be there). he sings himself hoarse. he doesn’t tell anyone when his back is hurting him again. he pushes himself too hard, striving to at least keep up to prove he earned his spot in the group. and then one day he can’t even get himself out of bed. he feels like a disappointment even as the doctor is telling him he needs at least two weeks of rest.
( vi.i “i am fine.” “i am fine.” “i am fine.” “i am fine.” )
