In my humble opinion, that shit was pretty damn good. I give it a good 4.5/5 stars. It would have been a full 5 if they wouldn’t have killed Minjoon. I mean first of all, he was manly af. His character made my heart flutter and he deserved to see his lil baby. But I guess they just wanted to play with my emotions lol.
Can we just praise the casting director for finally giving Nam Euntae a non-villain role? He surprisingly fit his character well, for a second I almost forgot all the times I wanted to punch him through my screen. However, they also did his character dirty- he should have been with his daughter in the end too.
The whole production was A+ and the cast gave me heart problems. I think I have mommy issues now because of Dahye and Choi Hyunwoo would not be homeless if I ever saw him on the streets, shoot. I’d snatch him right up. And it was nice seeing Mint in the production, though I hope his character is on a fast train to hell.
But really though, as always, fuck BKB for fucking with my emotions like that. That wasn’t a damn train to Busan, it was a roller coaster.
“I got tired, so I’m just having a coffee break. Hopefully none of the zombies does the same thing, because I don’t want to make a scene in this tiny cafe when I run screaming.”
TRAIN TO BUSAN SENTENCE STARTERS : currently open !
“ HYUNG, STOP IT. you’re going to ruin our image as badass idols, ” haesoo whines but drops into the empty seat next to minjoon unceremoniously, trying to level his breathing all while immediately shifting his body so he was leaning against the elder. there was no question whether or not haesoo would team up with his fellow aeon idol, haesoo always knew there was a reason why he would drag minjoon to the gym with him every chance he got, but it was more of a company thing than a hobby –– haesoo finding it humorous to the point where minjoon had wanted to get coffee right after they were both chased by a horde of screaming girls –– zombies, haesoo begrudgingly reminds himself.
( despite both of their determination to win the event, haesoo would really like to see his hyung scream like a little girl. )
haesoo grins as he bemuses that thought quietly before reaching over to flex his fingers in the thin air in hopes that minjoon would get the hint and share that beloved coffee that haesoo desperately was thirsty for.
“ i don’t know what’s scarier –– aeon’s fans or the zombies that’s kept chasing us all day, ” he mumbles tiredly as his cheek makes contact with minjoon’s shoulder, murmuring into the fabric of the elder’s shirt effortless as exhaustion starts to hit. “ hyung, we really have to win this thing, okay? promise me that at least one of us has to win. ”
the afterparty has aejeong sipping a drink at the bar instead of dancing. it’s nice to see that her members and friends from other groups are enjoying themselves and letting their hair down, but the atmosphere makes aejeong too nervous to go out and actively socialize. besides, with all her time in this industry, it’s not like she has new friends to make besides the few junior groups who greeted her formally.
yet her eye scans the crowd for one performer. if she’s honest, none of those junior groups truly did catch her critical eye. as cordially as she accepted their greetings, her mind was somewhere else, her eyes drifting over their shoulders in hopes of catching a glimpse of AEON’s main rapper.
she’d been thoroughly impressed with his performance on stage. as the leader of a “legendary girl group” or whatever the hell that bin byeoungkeun described them as, aejeong was expected to be proficient in all areas of talent. grudgingly she had to agree with that tyrant there, that it would be best if she could be not only a jack of all trades, but a master as well. and unfortunately, rap seemed to be impossible.
she’d spent countless hours practicing her rap above all else, and to no avail. but there was something about AEON’s “orion’s” performance that made her eyes glint excitedly, lighting up with a plan. unfortunately, he seemed impossible to find after that, and she’d spent the better first half of the afterparty roaming the dance floor looking for him among idols and actors and soloists and staff members.
when she finally spots him, she slams her drink down hurriedly, spilling it a little, and makes her way to him before slowing her pace to something a little more casual, and smoothing her features from hard and determined to open and friendly. it wouldn’t help her case at all if she came at him like a hawk. she taps at his shoulder.
“you’re orion. j-bom. you rapped for AEON.” she begins before realizing she just stated the obvious. clearing her throat, she continues. “i’m park aejeong, leader of silverBEAT. do you mind if i talk to you for a second?”
“G-ZER0 is performing? i thought it would be PARAL/L!”
。・:*:・゚☆ ask and you shall receive, @rytminjoon.rhythms opening event prompts (currently accepting!!)
dahye can’t help but grin at the mention of her label mates. what can she say, she feels a bit of pride towards the fact that PARAL/L stays within people’s minds, even when surrounded by so many other forms of excitement and good music. in a way, it lets her know that all her efforts and struggles haven’t been for nothing-- even if her and silverBEAT haven’t been able to shine as brightly as they used to, their company continues to shine. there’s a twinge of resentment, feeling like they’ve been tossed aside for something new and shiny, but those aren’t feelings that she wants to delve into tonight. or ever, truthfully.
“they have the perfect stage presence for it, right?” she mentions with an enthusiastic nod. but of course, she might be a bit biased.“but it seems like it’s been recent comebacks performing... and then us. and it’s one for each company, right? having PARAL/L instead of G-ZER0 would be bad for mirage.” once a new train of thought hits her head, she stops speaking, pressing a finger to her chin as she allows herself to buffer before starting again. “so are you saying that you’d rather have PARAL/L here than me? huh? huuuuuh?”

OOC INFORMATION
Preferred name: Mel
Pronouns: She / Her
Timezone: GMT-6
Other muses: n/a
IC INFORMATION
Faceclaim: Kim Minseok (Xiumin of EXO)
Name: Gwon Min Joon
Stage name (if applicable): J-Bom
Idol concept: Blonde, Hip-hop / Bad-boy. The image he portrays is definitely tougher and more outgoing than he is naturally. He tends to be much softer in his private life, fully fitting the image of being the baby of the family. He completely understands the reasoning behind that concept though. He’s the rapper. He’s supposed to be the tough, bad-boy type of the group. Having that very different persona he takes on when performing allows him to easily separate public life from private life and he likes that. So he’s okay with this concept. For now. Check back in a few years. It might change.
Birth date and age: September 10, 1991 / 25
Company name: Prime Records
Group Name (if applicable): AEON
Group Position (if applicable): Orion / main rapper, lead dancer, vocalist
Strengths: He will work his ass off for this. He’s put so much into this career path already that he’s determined to do anything it takes to make it. He can play guitar and piano, though he’s better at piano. He’s a decent songwriter, favoring a blend of korean and english in his lyrics. He’s a very easy-going person and it’s very rare that he doesn’t get along with someone. Bilingual.
Weaknesses: Dance isn’t something he ever gave much thought to before becoming a trainee at BKB. He’s better at it than he thinks he is, but it’s still something that he has to put more work into than the others. He tends to switch back and forth between english and korean without always noticing that he’s doing that… which can lead to some confusing conversations. He definitely has to put on a persona when he’s performing, promoting, etc which doesn’t always come easily. He has to work at it.
Negative traits: ritualistic, a little phlegmatic, impatient, predictable, somewhat sarcastic, fairly stubborn
PERSONAL HISTORY
Please describe in detail your muse’s past and present.
Gwon Min Joon grew up in Boulder, Colorado with his parents and older brother. His family had moved there shortly after his older brother was born and Min Joon had been born 3 years later. Adamant that they knew exactly where he came from, his mother made both children attend Korean school after their normal school day— something which earned quiet a bit of fussing both boys. Min was already interested in music from an early age and took as many choir and music classes as he could throughout his schooling. His mother was thrilled when he asked if he could take piano lessons. Then came guitar lessons. Then came his ever-practical father saying two instruments was enough. After all “how is the boy going to make a living with these things?”.
In high school, Min was that kid that was always posting songs and covers on youtube. They got a moderate amount of attention, but nothing crazy. No big break. After graduation, and against his father’s wishes, Min packed up what little he owned and moved out to California to pursue a music career. He took odd jobs to make ends meet and took music gigs, attended open mic nights, and auditioned as often as he could. Yet after two years he’d gotten absolutely nowhere. Again, no big break. He almost moved back home. He almost closed the curtain on music as a career. Then a friend in the industry suggested that he try his luck in Seoul. “You’re Korean, right? so why not? The music industry is huge over there.”
It took a month before Min Joon could fully commit to moving across the world, but he did it. That ended up being the best advice he’s ever gotten. Audition after audition, he got in as a trainee at BKB. He worked his ass off, did everything they asked. Just shy of two years as a trainee at BKB, he still had no idea if they were ever going to debut him. No one would tell him anything. It was beyond frustrating. Still, no big break! He didn’t leave everything behind and move across the world for nothing! Getting Min Joon to sign to Prime was easy. They offered better prospects. They offered AEON. This was his big break.
It’s been a struggle to catch up to the progress the other members have already made, but he’s willing to put in as much work as it takes. There have been many a late night and early morning since joining, but he honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s on a mission to prove that he’s an asset to the group. Though no one actually knows it yet, he even has a few song ideas in the works. Nothing that’s even close to done yet, but who knows? maybe one will make it onto their first album.
What is their family like?
Min is the baby of his family and the only one that has any musical inclinations. Nobody has a clue where he gets it. His father is an architect, mother works at a bank and his older brother is an engineer. He kind of sticks out as the weird one in his family, but his mother is very happy that he’s not as analytical and logical as his father and brother. While definitely skeptical of Min’s chosen path in the past, his father is slowly learning to warm up to the idea of his son being a professional musician. His ever-supportive mother is thrilled that others are finally seeing the talent she’s always known was there. His brother likes to tease him about all the girls that will be fawning over him. It never ceases to make Min Joon blush. His brother thinks that’s hilarious. Min a little less so.
their friends?
A large number of Min’s friends are Americans that he hasn’t seen in years: people he grew up with in Boulder or met in California. As a result, he does get kind of lonely and homesick sometimes. He texts and calls as often as possible— just as much, if not more, than he does with his family. When starts letting himself wallow in self pity and loneliness though, friends he’s made in Seoul snap him out of it and remind him how good he has it here. It usually doesn’t take much.
Why are they in the career they are in?
Honestly, he can’t think of another thing in the world he would rather do. There is nothing else. Music is who he is. End of story.
What do they hope to accomplish?
He wants to make it, ya know? As a musician, a rapper, a dancer, a performer. He wants to show people that may be in the same situation he was a few years ago to not give up, that it is possible to make in in this business if you keep pushing and keep trying. And, not gonna lie, a little bit of it is that he wants to prove his dad wrong.
