I have been hiperfixated on Like Mother Like Daughter series for a while now so i want to make an appriciation post about one of my favourite characters in the series. Which is Myungji Gil (Since his mother doesnt love him and appriciate him like i do) As someone who has a little sister whose personality is similar to Myungji, his death really hits me hard. RIP Myungji you are a kind and a lovely brother whose life have been cut short by his own mother and her hunchman(Teacher Song Iwon). He is the reason why Somyung become the person she is and why this series exist in the first place. He basically haunts the narrative. Now before you said"oh no it was Ryu Sol who haunts the narrative" i like to disagree on that take because Ryu Sol haunts Myung Somin narrative and contribute to the plot but she isnt the reason why Somyung wants to run away and get revenge on her mother. If Myung Somin didnt kill her son then Somyung would have no reason to do what she was doing right now. Somyung would just live a peaceful with her brother and her mother. And Myung Somin wouldnt get so overprotactive and controlling over Somyung's life. Mind you in season 2.5 Myung Somin stated multiple time that she didnt love her daughter at all. She said that her daughter is sweet and boring and that she lacks charm(really lady,cant you at least be respectful to the only person that obey to your unnecesarry needs💀). And then suddenly she start to obsess over her daughter when she realise her daughter is aware of her murdering her brother. She would do anything for her daughter stay at her side because she want that spark and immersion in her daughter which is hostility and anger for murdering her brother. And she go ahead and say something like "weight the scales between me and Myungji" like lady do you really expect her to choose you who traumatised her and make her live in hell over a caring and lovely brother who actually LOVE her for who she is not because he founds her "interesting" unlike you. Myung Somin is a great female villain in psycological manwha. I absolutely adore her as a character. With that being said i absolutely detest her for being such a horrible mother to her two kids. Just because she favor her daughter over her son,that doesnt make her a good mother to her daughter at all. Oh look at me rambling again. Well this is it. Good night.
