An interesting part of the story is the ship identified as the Ryukaku which at the time was believed by US intelligence to be the third Shokaku class ship (of which only 2 existed, Shokaku and Zuikaku). This ship is actually the Shoho a light carrier with a small flight group intended to cover the landings of Port Moresby and other areas within the Solomon island chain.
