“I’ll need you to stop crying and explain what’s wrong”.
She had accidently stumbled across an enormous structure, which apparently went by the name of Mermaid Cove Mall, and immediately found a child sobbing alone on a nearby bench. Despite their bawling, the other passersby paid them no mind, seemingly occupied with enjoying the festivities without concerning themselves in another’s affairs. Against her better judgement, 2B decided to see what was wrong if only to cease the unnecessary noise.
“If you can’t tell me, then I have no way of helping you,” she spoke with a firm tone, her patience already waning, “Would you rather I leave you here alone?”
The android stood before them with her arms crossed and a frown displayed prominently on her face. After several minutes of choked sobs and heavy breathing, the child eventually managed to calm down enough to voice their complaints. It would seem there was a contest involving capturing “snowflakes” and the prize for capturing all five was a gift card. Suddenly, the child begins their heavy sobs as they explain their numerous failed attempts to capture a single snowflake.
What an annoyance.
As they continued their story, her visor alerted her to the aforementioned snowflake buzzing erratically over their heads as though teasing them. Not wanting to dwell any longer on the child’s tears, 2B hastily agreed to assist and sprints after the fleeing snowflake without another word.
Unlike the humans, her speed was immediately noted as being above average as she followed behind with relative ease. On the other hand, one had to take care to jump out of her path lest they wish to feel a body comprised of mechanical parts ramming into them. Her surroundings blended into a blur of color as she quickened her pace until the target was within range.
Noting a bystander bending over, she sprinted towards them and swiftly leaps on their back. With the extra height, 2B leaps high into the air with outstretched hands--A feat earned the surprised gasps and comments of the surrounding bystanders. She is seen flying high into the air and manages to grasp the snowflake with both hands. As she falls towards the ground, the android manages to flips over and land gracefully despite her weight makes an audible thud against the marbled floor.
“One down, four more to go.”
