We end the night in Trinidad with S. (or Scientist) Carter. He hails from Belmont in Port of Spain, and is apparently a DJ. (S Carter)
Ahoy shipmates!
Pirates vs. ninjas is the long-standing debate over who the victor would be in a fight between pirates and ninjas.
For many it's a new concept, but in some circles the argument has been raging for decades. Well... when I say raging... blokes half-pissed on cheap-piss lager on a night out at a meat market shithole pub on a Friday night when they realise that no self-respecting woman will talk to them.... chat about pirates and ninjas. And their new phone.
Pirates vs. ninjas got its start in Australia in 1965. There was a Japanese TV show called The Samurai that started a ninja craze Down Under when it was broadcast. A bunch of kids dressed as ninjas came to see the star of the show in a stage performance and some older boys came around making fun of them.
One of the comments was about how pirates could defeat them and the older boys found it amusing enough to talk about it often.
One of those boys was studying at UCLA a few years later, and the comment made its way into history by catching the attention of a computer technician who made it the first message sent across the Arpanet (predecessor of the Internet).
So basically, this argument has been on the net longer than Google, Internet Explorer, YouTube, FaceBook... all kinds of shit.
I used to be a pirate fan (cool daaaaaaaar noises and colorful Captain Sparrow outfits), but I dated a Ninja fan and she converted me. I think it's the whole 'being very fucking quiet and keep your head down' thing that appeals to me these days.
Ooooh, and thanks to a northern punk girl... my desire for snow, speed and LSD... sorted! Happy fucking (battered) panda.
Goals-wise... spoke to a travel company in Vegas... have a budget... have a plan.
Sometimes... the Ninja stealth of a panda works fucking wonders.
Raar!
I wonder how it feels to have the king of swag as your dad? Blue Ivy :)
