Do....you want to go to F.I.T.?" He needed to ask because he never asked her that question before. "I don't want you giving up a dream because of me."  "You're my dream, Chuck, I'm happy here and yes, I've thought about going to New York and I think it would be amazing but I want us more," she told him, her eyes searching his face before they dropped to the sand with a sigh. "But like, I can't give up on my New York dream for a dream that I'm just not sure about. I want us to work and I know I messed that up, but I just need to know that you see a future with me like a real one, I need to hear you say it.

Sky; Our character's are stargazing.

He'd suggested stargazing out of the blue, really. He'd brought it up to Jack while they were sprawled out in the bedroom while he was busy going over a script with a highlighter between his teeth and she was plucking away at her guitar lazily while they waited for Haley to get off work at the diner so they could go and have a drink together. 

He wasn't even sure why he'd suggested it in the first place, it wasn't exactly the most well thought out plan he'd ever concocted but he was determined to take her out independently of Haley. He adored them both, to be sure, but balancing having more than one girlfriend was an incredible challenge in his mind and like most challenges, Luke was determined to knock this one out of the park. 

Jack, of course, had seemed amused by the suggestion but she'd agreed anyway, not that he could really figure out why - he speculated it had something to do with his dimples and his ability to break out the 'puppy dog eyes' whenever he wanted something. 

He'd tried really hard not to rely on either of those things, but hey. Old habits died hard. 

That conversation was the reason he found himself staring glumly up at the clouds that were obscuring any decent view of the stars for a good ten blocks, at least. He grumbled under his breath as he sprawled out next to his girlfriend, flashing her an apologetic smile he hoped didn't make him look like a kid who'd gotten his candy taken away. 

"I totally forgot to check the weather before we came out here," He muttered after a moment, flushing. 

Jack laughed and it made him smile almost immediately, it was a different sound than Haley's laugh, but it was one he was coming to appreciate in much the same ways, "It's the thought that counts, right?"

He frowned dubiously, "I dunno, babe. You'd have to tell me, 'cause like, as far as first dates go. I'm not very impressed by myself." 

His short streak of self-pity was summarily cut off when Jack rolled over and stargazing was forgotten for the next thirty minutes in favor of kissing and mumbled comments about how, "Constellations weren't really that cool anyway."
