The S.A.F.E. Hands Program at Standard Energy Services
Throughout its history in the Permian Basin, Standard Energy Services (Standard E&S) has remained firmly dedicated to safety. Here is a quick look at the four components of the Standard Energy Services S.A.F.E. Hands program, which sets out to minimize and control hand hazards. 1.) Survey for Hazards: Before beginning any kind of task, employees should identify all potential hazards using a red (hazard), yellow (caution), and green (general) scoring system. 2.) Actions for the Task: After surveying a site for hazards, employees should look to the Job Safety Analysis Process and Written Work Procedures to understand the responsibilities of their role in the particular task. 3.) Familiarity with the Task: Employees should always ensure that they have the proper level of training for the task at hand. In addition to undergoing initial training, employees should not be afraid to communicate with their coworkers and supervisors to ask for clarification whenever necessary. 4.) Equipment: Employees should always make sure they have the proper tools and personal protective equipment for the task.
