I’m sorry our love transcended the limits of time and that the world couldn’t catch up but that didn’t stop me from breaking every clock I saw and stealing all the hours if it meant not losing you I’m sorry that I wanted more of those minutes where you framed me in your figure, and that we felt like gods in our own universe, because we were not immortal no matter how invincible we felt I’m sorry that my promises were planned for future years when all we had was a fraction of that time But you made years seem quicker as if tick-tocks went faster and were paced with every rise and fall of your breath I’m sorry that I thought I could convince time to make an exception for us with pretty words and sly smiles and that I thirsted for more than what I could get, but I have drank all the time from the world and still, it wasn’t enough I’m mostly sorry that we had to learn the hard way that time will never stop for anyone not even us.
