Imagine you have proposed your best friend to live with you - just the two of you spending the rest of your lives together - while you thought he was unconscious...
...and suddenly he "wakes up", and shows that he had heard your ask that.
How bold would you need to be to not feel flustered, blush and caught off guard?
Then, in order to help you get back to your feet - to help you not feel uncomfortable and vulnerable for being caught expressing such life long wish for the unknown future -, the amazing guy you proposed to (and who knows how to read people pretty well most of time) deliberately finds a safe topic to discuss, and drives your attention to something safe... while also using this as an excuse to save you from further self-consciousness as his eyes also changes the focus to give your space...
And then...
After him showing you that - while you may have seriously thought about running away from a deadly future because you know your lives were in danger, and that you think you're almost completely powerless against your enemies -, you yourself had already decided that wouldn't do for either of you because you're already devising a way to carry his badly hurt self with you to where you need to go... and, above all, that he also knows you (for long 10 years now) and you just can't give up fighting for the right thing...
Would his answer really be a rejection to the proposal of living together with you?
Even when he never excluded himself from the idea, but instead he just highlighted "if we run from our responsibilities, what will happen?" and "look, you already found a clever way to not leave me behind nor use my state to actually stay here" and "even if you tried, I know you wouldn't be able to live at peace"?
Isn't he just agreeing with you that your battles are not over yet, and thus you just won't give up the fight for humanity’s freedom?
