Watching High School musical and eating a pepperoni pizza with Lauren to celebrate the end of recruitment weekend.
Today was a shit show tbh. My head feels funny because aroma therapy, my gluten intolerant little Lauren ate gluten, she also got the oil for the aroma therapy in my eye, Grey's is of course a thing that needs to not be so romantically depressing and yup #shitshow and it's 1:15am.
Okay, wow.
When I left for summer last year, I was sure of my sexuality but I hadn't told many people in my life. I was going through a lot and it just wasn't the time to deal with it. I was dragged out of the closet by a friend during the winter session of school last year and she has helped me come to terms with all of this so more than I could even explain. Over the summer I came out to my friends, and I lost a couple people when I did, but hey that's life, and society. I spent that summer finding a different group of people who I could be myself with because I realized I couldn't be myself with those who surrounded me. That brought me to tumblr. I started this blog in the spring of my senior year of high school but never really got into it until summer. I started meeting some people on this site through tinychats and I met some really incredible people who I actually had the ability to see before school started. A few of them have really impacted my life and have helped me with a lot of things that I never thought I could ever really accept about myself. I met Christina a few days before her birthday and we got incredibly close and I am so blessed to call her my best friend and have her there at 2am when I call her on the phone in tears because my heart hurts. I would not have survived last summer, or this school year without her. Then there is Kyle, Demi, Alisha, Lizzie, Hannah, Natalie, Jamie, Lexi, Emily, Meghan, Caroline, Lexi, Alison, Kate, Sarah, Courtney, Niki, and a bunch more people who have all taught me so many lessons. I honestly don't know what I would do without you all. That's the truth.
Anyways....back to the original track of this post...
Summer ended and I had to go back to school where I was completely ready to change my image and be the person who I had begun to love and accept over the summer. I came to school and started telling my closest friends that I was in fact gay. If it weren't for people like Becs, Alex, Samar, Sahar, Itzel, Annie, my fantastic little Lauren and of course my doucebag of a roommate (who I actually love a lot) Lauren, I would not have been able to have such a great year and feel comfortable being myself. I have grown so much over the year and I am really starting to love the person that I am today. My grades got better, my writing improved drastically, my diving skills were enhanced and my friendships got stronger. I honestly can't thank everyone enough because you have all helped me become a much better person who is genuinely happy. I still cannot believe that I am halfway done with my life here at college, but I know that the future will hold bright and difficult things for me and I am already preparing for it all. Until then, I am going to make the most of my time left here and continue to create everlasting memories with the people who are going to be in my life for a long time.
Two weeks, well not even. My sophomore year will be over in 10 days. 10. Days. That's it. 240 Hours. 864,000 seconds.
