Hello! I've been rewatching the show while listening to the Descent is Easy podcast and they sent me to your wonderful timeline! The timeline on the show is truly whacky so impressive work on that! I'm currently trying to grasp how the first 2x18 flashback fits between 1x06 and 1x07 since it seems like those episodes should happen 3 seconds apart based on Clary's revelation. Any thoughts on that?

There’s really no explaining that, because they retconned the fuck outta the beginning of 1x07 to work that flashback into 2x18.

Maybe Magnus tossed a throw over Alec as he snoozed there on the sofa while Magnus, Clary, Jace, and Luke sat around him, pretending he wasn’t there, and discussed the fact that Jocelyn had hidden the Mortal Cup in a tarot card.

Maybe Magnus magicked the sofa Alec was sleeping on into his room of requirement and magicked a different sofa into his living room until everyone went the hell away and left him and his would-be boo alone again.

Or, y’know, maybe Jace–never the brightest bulb in the fixture–wondered why the hell Magnus had this very lumpy, life-sized, Alec-shaped throw pillow and then decided it was better for his peace of mind not to ask.
