what's that joke about gay people not being able to sit in chairs correctly
Emily Prentiss at the end of s4 ep 1 [Mayhem] where she's taking to Det Cooper in his hospital room. I don't entirely know what to make of it.
I'm assuming at face value, it's her struggling that it "could have easily have been her." And to an extent, it could be that. It's made clear from the beginning that Emily compartmentalises extremely well. She's used to life threatening danger every day on the job, but, well, she's not unshakeable. She's human. Maybe it's a little her own mortality she felt here.
I think more so that it was her own mortality side by side with Detective Cooper's.
I sort of think she was acting the way she was in that last scene the entire episode. We know they're not seriously flirting as, as she says, he's very happily married, but I think there's a taste there she doesn't often feel she gets. That easy friendship where there's a trust between two people that have just met. She's non judgemental about his player-pretense, and he respects that her job isn't total quackery.
Prentiss can be jittery and awkward, but she's also smooth and witty. She keeps so many secrets that I don't think it's a big bother for her anymore, but just maybe it makes her feel a little isolated from her friends.
When I met my best friend, it was a little bit like a lightning bolt day where we just clicked and knew there was a connection meant to be there. Maybe it's that. Maybe it's just that they respect each other, and she almost lost a new friend. I could be reading into this episode entirely too much.
But I think there's something there. Something in that episode that says something about the Emily that at this point in the series we barely know yet.
The mustache is just too much for me. He looks really funny. 😂
greg’s switch in ep1 where he is absolutely desperate for tom’s attention is 1000% because he’s perceived tom’s shift in attitude and focus and the child in him that’s extremely needy for a proper affectionate presence in his life is acting out. the man is DESPERATE for tom not to walk out of his life like his dad or only talk about things he doesnt care about like his mother or ewan or to actually treat him like he’s important unlike his cousins or to touch his head like the hairdresser or
