Skate America Ladies SP quick thoughts:

Scherbakova was insanely overscored.

Tuktamysheva was underscored (it seems like the judges were working very hard to keep her and Scherbakova close).

Tennell was also overscored, those PCS were a lot. I like her and she’s a good spinner for sure but that was a huge score.

Higuchi was a joy to watch, so glad she finally had a clean skate, she deserved it. She still has one of the best SPs of the season.

There are no words to describe how unfair Kaori’s score is, she gave such an amazing performance but they used the PCS to keep her low. #JusticeForKaori

In 20 days I’ll be going to Japan to study abroad!  After what felt like MONTHS of waiting I finally have all the info I need to start my semester abroad in Tokyo at Waseda University!  Hopefully I will be a little bit more active this coming spring since I want to document my experience for anyone else who might be thinking about studying abroad.  Anyway stay tuned and if you have any questions about my program and the process or whatever send me a message!

HD are skating better than ever but the Free program is incomprehensible. They sandwich a fast song with two halves of Shallow. The start is slow & sad, fast song kicks in & they turn super sassy, song ends in dead silence. Second half of Shallow begins & they're now emoting pain? like crazy. The cut is so hiccupy & nothing feels natural. Music is cool, why and who is ruining it? Same troubled music cut issues as last year. Their SS save them, but they're sabotaging their own PCS.

God I feel like I ghost wrote it. Couldn't agree more.
