So about that finale....I have thoughts.

First of all I do not hold the cast nor crew responsible for having to cram six 45 min episodes into the 90 mins that Amazon gave them. Like Michael said, it should have been 6 episodes but sadly we all know why that got ruined. It was rushed and messy at points but also sweet and perfect at times.

Crowley taking care of the book shop because he couldn't loose that too. Aziraphale getting the Bentley back becuse he know how important it is to Crowley. Jesus and The Antichrist having a beer together (now thats a ship).

I will always adore Michael and David's portrayal of Aziraphale and Crowley because you can see how much fun and love they put into it. Those characters and this series mean so much to them as it does to many of us.

If you didn't like the finale I fully understand why, I didn't love it but I didn't hate it. The ending was very Terry Pratchett as in humanity will always live on. Humanity is what is important espc in todays world.

Maybe it's because Im a sucker for "in all timelines in all possibilities™️" but I'm happy that Aziraphale and Crowley will always find each other and love each other.

The first season is the GOAT for me and always will be. Don't let this ruin your love for this show or its characters. Write that fix it fic, draw an AU comic, keep Aziraphale and Crowley alive or make your own world with Asa and Anthony. This is why ao3 exists.

The story is over but that doesn't mean it ends. Whether it's Show, Book, Radio or Stage, Good Omens will always live on.

It is ours now. Keep creating. It's what they would want. But if you decide to close the book on it too that's fine. It's understandable.

I'm going to miss those Ineffable Idiots so much it hurts. Watching the 6 mins BTS and seeing Michael get emotional made me emotional. He loves Aziraphale so much and you see that. He and David gave it their all knowing it wasnt the ending the series deserved. For that I thank them.

The thing I love most about the meeting at St James park 11 years ago and the following scenes is Crowley's systematically undoing Aziraphale's "holier than thou" attitude. He does it meticulously and it's quite brilliant.

For starters, on the bench even before he asks for help when Aziraphale is stating about how lovely heaven winning will be Crowley starts putting doubt (crafty demon he is). He lists things that will be lost but not just regular things, stuff Aziraphale likes, things he knows Aziraphale likes.

Begins simple; music. No classical composers, Albert Hall or Glyndebourne. Next moves to food, he knows his angel loves food. No little restaurants or gravlax in dill sauce.

Then. THEN, the stinger

No more old bookshops. I mean that brief look of dread on Aziraphale's face isn't lost.

However, being the stubborn angel (half brain washed by heaven) Aziraphale is, even with all those reminders of the lovely things he'll loose, he doesn't take Crowley's advance on them working together.

However you can see Aziraphale's anxiety over the entire thing in his posture, his hands knitted in front as they walk up the stairs, the nervous looking around incase their conversation is being overheard.

No I am not interested! Aziraphale isn't walking to the Bentley after this line, he doesn't plan on going with Crowley. So...what does the wily serpent do?

Honestly in 6000 years, when if ever do you think Aziraphale has ever turned down an offer for food? Knowing this Crowley uses his 1793 owed one, I betcha he was saving it for something like this. Aziraphale immediately spots, hands no longer anxiously in front of him and returns to the car. Also on a note, I don't think Crowley forgot what year it was, I think he just wanted Aziraphale to say it since he knew he had him.

So, lunch at the Ritz. Aziraphale is more relaxed now. Next part of the plan...

I mean what better way to finally lay the most convincing blows to your "hereditary enemy", who is still turning you down for saving the world then getting him hammered?

No more chateauneuf de paps or single malt scotch. Again casual mentions of things Aziraphale likes.

But the kicker comes while drunk in the bookshop. Literally stone cold drunk, Crowley is still able to deconstruct Aziraphale's thinking. I mean god knows what he said in the 6 hours prior but we get

Dolphins! That's my point. Sky turning red and what are they putting in bananas these days?

Drunk demons way of saying this won't just effect humans.

And then ETERNITYYYYYYYYYYY

Aziraphale's reaction is almost that he never once considered what this meant which Crowley uses to his advantage, to deal his final blow.

The Sound of Music.

Aziraphale's reaction alone you just see the wheels turning, he's gone from "it's all going to be rather lovely" to "I don't like it anymore than you do."

Now Crowley has something to work with since Aziraphale isn't just outright telling him no, he can't interfere with the Divine Plan™️. And plays on Aziraphale's quality to continue doing the right thing while thwarting him. Mission accomplished.

TL;DR: Crowley manages to use things the angel loves along with the hatred of The Sound of Music to his advantage. Best demon.

I think one of the best things about the fandom is everyone just fully 100% agrees Crowley finds Aziraphale smoking hot in anything he wears. I'm totally here for Az in lingerie, dresses, tuxedos, period garb, whatever creators want to put him in. But my FAVE is when it's just a small difference in his usual current attire.

I love fics/drawings where Aziraphale has his tie off and maybe one or Heaven help us two shirt buttons undone and Crowley is blushing like mad. Or Aziraphale in sock garters or suspenders or just his sleeves rolled up. Nothing provocative or racy in normal terms but it gobsmacks Crowley because it's his fussy proper angel. He loves Aziraphale's body no matter what.

And we all know Aziraphale teases him and pretends he isn't aware of it so after a long day he slowly undoes the tie and pulls it off while letting out a soft relaxed moan and next thing he knows Crowley is on the ceiling like a feral cat.

I don't remember who posted it on tumblr but there is this great meta post concerning Crowley during the holy water scene in St James Park. How nervous he is during all of it even before Aziraphale snaps at him and walks away. I'd been thinking about that recently and then saw this scene again...

It's played as comedy, the whole ducks have ears. Your eye is on Crowley since he's speaking and moving around looking at the ducks.

Which is why it took me 4 months to realize how much Aziraphale's posture changes in this small frame.

Crowley, up to this point in the scene, is the rigid standing still with his cane while Aziraphale is casually feeding the ducks. Even while Crowley talks about what could happen and wanting insurance, Aziraphale continues his normal subtle movements as we are used to seeing.

As Aziraphale unfolds the paper, he still moves head bobbing, shoulders relaxed while Crowley starts discussing ducks. But then you see Aziraphale freeze for moment as he reads the words. His back straightens ever so slightly, posture hardens, seeing what's written and then his head whips to Crowley.

We know Aziraphale always does his micro movements espc when he's nervous.

But here he's completely still for a split second seeing those words and what harm they could bring to his friend.

He's upset, angry which leads to fraternizing and storming off in a very Aziraphale like huff. Lots of movements. Which to me is why the freeze speaks more volumes about his feelings about the holy water than storming off.

Another thing I love about the heaven/hell swap scene (besides everything)...

Aziraphale finally gets to break the rules. Not skirt around them, not teetering on the edge hoping front office doesn't notice, no little temptations for Crowley. He gets to break literally THE cardinal rule of demons, being immune to Holy Water.

The whole "Michael, dude..." and the towel thing I mean can you imagine his pudgy little face inside Crowley's facade just bursting. He's sticking it not only to Hell as Crowley but to Heaven (Crowley doing the same upstairs)

When they switch back on bench you do see his glee. He's so happy about being the "bad" guy. You notice Crowley doesn't tell Aziraphale he roared fire at the Archangels or stared down a demon (had that been shown). Crowley is used to be the bad guy (even if he's not). He lets Aziraphale bask in what he did in Hell to embarrass everyone there. Crowley knows how much this meant to Aziraphale after he lost his faith in Heaven and angels so he just lets him go on about it.

It's fricking adorable and I love it.
