I graduated! Have a degree now! :D
I wrote this about a year ago when I was bored and decided to share -- here is a very poor summary of Partitio's entire story in run-on sentence joke-roast form!
A man's family founded an entire town that was really prosperous except they didn't read the fine print so suddenly the town became rundown and sucked except for the fine print wasn't there until five minutes ago but no one noticed so after experiencing poverty he leaves to go kill poverty elsewhere because why not so he runs into a bunch of capitalists who want more moneyz and he gets upset with them so buys the steam engine except for he doesn't have the money to buy the steam engine so he goes elsewhere and with his powers of prosperity manages to save a town from its terrible economy which impresses some rich guy who gives him all the money but doesn't want to give him any silk handkerchiefs so he responds by buying a boat and travelling elsewhere to finally buy the steam engine because that will help kill poverty but the guy no longer wants to sell the steam engine anymore even though he beat him at capitalism fair and square while a loud scrivener sacrifices herself but also she doesn't to help him buy the steam engine but then she almost dies again because the Capitalist God got pissed and tried to run everyone over with a train but the Hero manages to kill the train but leaves the guy and all the other capitalists alive and hires them all because he's like that and so he founds his own company that he thinks is going to kill poverty so he went from being a poor man in a rundown town to being probably a multi-billionaire in like one month and in the process managed to invent the mall, socialism, and music.
So I had the weirdest dream last night... (*Insert "I haven't finished ISAT I'm on Act 4 don't spoil it please" message*)
So first of all the entire dream was in black and white. I'm not sure if this is unusual or not but I noted it because ISAT. Because the entire dream was in black and white I'm assuming this entire thing is the same nonsense dream. The dream itself started when I misgendered Loop by accident. And they seemed fine, but turns out I had made a terrible mistake and the act of misgendering Loop turned one of my professors evil. My professor started acting suspicious, and got OBSESSED with trying to find this one artefact (I don't know what he was looking for) so like the helpful oblivious student I was I decided to say "oh I know where that is!" Scene change -- now I'm with the professor and his wife in the middle of nowhere and we're going into some ruins??? Like, Legend of Zelda dungeon style, we go underground and the walls are stone and there's water everywhere and stuff. And the professor is continuing to obsessively search for what he's looking for and I'm assigned the task of disabling the traps and solving the puzzles so we can progress. Aaaand sudden scene change -- apparently I decided to go home, I don't know if the professor found what he was looking for I was just going home now. And on the way home I got a text from my OTHER professor that there was a scarab loose in the lab and that it was urgent that I go find it. So I go all the way back and I get to the lab and there's a big hole in the ceiling with a bunch of scaffolding and a ladder there??? So I climb up there looking for the scarab, and after a moment I finally find it and it's just got this... "feeling" to it like "this thing is evil." And when I looked closer at it it had that glowing star symbol that's on the King's armour. I don't know what happened to me after that because suddenly we're scene-changing to something entirely different. Now I see Loop sitting on a bed and Siffrin is lying in the bed looking at them. And Loop tells him that he's free, and that "tomorrow, you'll be gone... and you won't loop back" (paraphrased to the actual meaning because the actual words made no sense but I knew what it meant). And Siffrin nodded and stared at them. And then Loop told them "but that's not how it is for me... you'll be gone but after a few days I'll be back here..." And Loop looked away. And Siffrin just stared. And then the dream ended.
Is August, the eighth month of the year, the ultimate Octopath month? Or is October, which begins with "Octo," the ultimate Octopath month?
Which is the ultimate Octopath month?
August (because 8!)
October (because Octo!)
So I did some Temenos recolours a while back where I colour-picked other characters' sprites when I was curious how he'd look with other characters' colour schemes.
Temenos with Throne's colour scheme.
Temenos with the little lamb's colour scheme. (I love doing recolourings, maybe I'll do more at some point I kind of forgot I did these.)
Anyone else try looking up Partitio's theme on YouTube or something and change the playback speed to x2? I can't stop laughing...
*changes background colour of blog* I AM MAKING PROGRESS. SLOWLY. Now all I have left is... the big picture (banner?) in the back. *gets overwhelmed and hides* ...maybe in another month.
It's so sad when you get to see entire civilisations rise from nothing, you get to watch them work and build up their cities and castles of dirt and use the cracks in your roads as their own highways.
You get to see them flourish, day after day. And then the civilisation falls. You walk by and it's gone. There's nothing left of it. Their empire has fallen, and there's barely an indication that it was ever there to begin with. Maybe a dirt pile, maybe a flat grassless area, but not much. Most would pass by not even knowing it was there.
But you are left wondering how it fell exactly. What happened to it. Was it another one of your kind, that didn't want to see their grand castles? Was it that they couldn't live there anymore? Did a war break out between competing civilisations? Did illness break out? You will never know and you never could have done anything to prevent it.
It's just so heartbreaking.
