a small welcome || temari & neji
§ sabaku-no-hanahime
Neji skips over the rooftops of the Konoha village with purpose. He's been getting the hang of it lately. His injuries have grounded him in the village but he has a feeling it's a whole lot more than that. And, frankly, he doesn't blame anyone for suggesting anything else. While he sustained injuries (it's been weeks since but the wounds have had a slow process in healing), Neji supposes memory loss can play a huge factor when it comes to missions. Even though it's been weeks, he hasn't gained much from his past. And he knows he's lucky to still have his job, though he's been explained his rank may be in jeopardy.
Shaking off the thoughts, Neji lands over by the guard tower, where he waits for the expected nin coming from Suna. Sabaku no Temari, he's told her name is. The older sister of their kage. And while he's been relearning a lot, Neji knows it's important to be polite as possible. The guard lets him know when she's coming; he sees some sympathy in the watchtower's eyes and he ignores it. It's not a tragic thing that's happened to him, is it? He's still alive, right?
He spies some yellow in the distance and stands up. That must be her. As the large gates begin to open, Neji jumps down and waits as she nears. Hyuuga Neji, he reminds himself. You're a Konoha nin representing the village. He's been told she has come by a few times before. So it isn't anything new to her, he supposes. But it's a mission, even if it's a short one. Briefly, he wonders if they had ever met before.
He puts on a small smile and nods at her. "Sabaku no Temari. Welcome back to Konoha," his voice even.
