I made the Prototypes hat in just different colors.
what if oliver was originally a jack-in-the-box... AND had legs? like the whole idea of the toy was a jack-in-the-box with a detachable torso that came with legs and doubled as a huggable doll you could take anywhere. the idea was rejected because test audiences didn't exactly warm up to the idea of a "mutilated clown toy." but elliot kept the blueprints for the toy and that's what he used to make oliver

Save Everyone AU's Ollie is the type of kid that can build anything out of scraps, duct tape, hot glue and a dream, but Poppy is the type of kid that can make anything look pretty. Book smarts and street smarts, do Not separate them, they both bawled their eyes out when Poppy was six and Ollie was four because it was time for her to go to school and he couldn't go with her. Ollie nowadays denies this from ever happening.
I love headcanon-ing that the one time Elliot Ludwig took oliver to poppy’s grave, he left him there overnight. And he just sat there, using the tomb as a very uncomfortable pillow, and the jacket his father told him to bring as a blanket. And he sits there, wondering what he actually meant to his ‘father.’ nothing. he meant absolutely nothing to his father.
in the morning when his father remembers, he doesn’t apologize for leaving him. He doesn’t say anything. not because he didn’t feel bad, but because he knew this child would be the next.

hey btw i know a lot of people were upset at the minimal um. flesh integrations. in the prototype despite the build-up so i want to propose a theory/headcanon that explains it:
it's not about the physical body parts that was the concern for mommy long-legs. have you considered the posibility that the prototypes gains the memories or consciousnesses of those bound to them. like poppy gel has already shown the ability to, like, Do That
another funfact: olive trees do flower! they're mostly white or pale greens/yellows. possibly intentional contrast with bright red poppies?
