Ok I am redoing my Oliver Ludwig is MC/Player for my a better place au. This is what he generally looked like during the tea part in chapter 5. He’ll still keep the leg and back brace. The 43 is his age. Asks are open for this au for me or the characters.

MASSIVE cornplate moment incoming but i just noticed the first couple seconds of "wrongside out" by cg5 and "are we truly alone?" from chapter 3, which plays when poppy mentions that ollie was the reason she found the player, sound extremely similar... which makes me think "are we truly alone" is possibly meant to be ollie's motif 👀

How is Ollie getting along with the others besides Poppy and CatNap? I know his relationship between him and the player is probably… tense, but does he warm up to them eventually?

Heh, actually him and "the player" get along fairly well :P

In my au, there isn't actually the player as we have them in the game. The player consists of three people: Lucas, Mara/Guardian (my silly OCs) and Susan Ayers. I will explore Susan and Oliver's relationship a bit later, so now I'm gonna focus on the other two.

Lucas is a huuuuuge engineering nerd, he helped Ollie repair his arms... Err, arm, as only one survived the fire. He built the other one and chatted with Ollie a lot while the kid recovered. They also bond over having a murder record haha...

Mara, the shadow from another world, is the one who dragged Ollie out of the collapsing factory. She's his healer (I refuse to say "doctor" lmao, NO doctors allowed!), she watched over him while he was in recovery. He simply didn't trust anyone else. This girl at least saved his life and fixed his wounds. Maybe she can be trusted. Maybe. A sympathetic little alien who took everyone to safety.

Bonus points for both Mara and Lu being technically immortal. Mara has the lifespan of a star and Lu is made of regenerative fungus. So yeah, they are a kind of comfort for Ollie. Even if he never reconciles with Poppy or finds a way to make everyone immortal (there's a lot of talk about why this is unethical from Mara), eternity won't be lonely for him.

Of course their relationship wasn't very amicable at first as Oliver was on guard all the time, expecting everyone to trick or hurt him 😞 buuut he learnt to at least somewhat trust them quite soon when he realized they didn't want to hurt him

i've been really curious about the details of the events between the prototype's creation and them being discovered by playtime. i kinda want to write a small story about it, but in my head it's something like this:

-since oliver's body was found at elliot's home he may have done the reanimation there, and after lying about them being a family and getting poppy back, elliot ditches oliver and the manor altogether to live with poppy in the new factory home area

-after being left alone in the manor and waiting for elliot to come back for days, oliver finally uses his arms to crawl out (i still hc that even if he did have legs atp he didn't know how to use them)

-elliot pulls up in his car to get some boxes of his and poppy's personal belongings to bring to the factory. oliver stows away in one of the bigger boxes and hides in there as elliot brings them to the factory and unloads the boxes into the homey area by his office

-oliver comes out of the box and hides in that room, and hears elliot tell poppy about how this was their home now, and that they were gonna be a family there together, just the two of them, and doesn't mention oliver at all. oliver realizes that he'd been lied to again and that was the last straw that makes him finally snap

-he kills elliot out of a rage, immediately straining his relationship with poppy. she avoids him, so he then sneaks off to playcare to form an escape plan, and we know the rest from there ;;
