Allegory: What does Rook dream about?
Nico dreams of blood, suffocation, and the bitterness of cold when you don't have gloves. Fancy parties, being caught when he's done something wrong, missing tools he needs, or pain that can't be eased. His dreams are only ever nightmares, so he does his best to avoid dreaming.
Sabelle dreams of oceans and adventure. Bones and death. Dancing with skeletons in the dark. Sometimes pirates!
Lydia dreams of big open fields where the wind rustles the grass. But she also dreams of darkness creeping in, enveloping everything even when she tries to stop it. She doesn't consider them nightmares, more a reflection of her reality sinking into the fade.
Kye dreams of his life prior to becoming a warden. He dreams of farmland, cows, and hard work. He also dreams of being buried alive by puppies. He likes that one.
