DAdrawtober Day 17 - Templar
Whether you’re for or against the templars, I think it’s really sad that chronic lyrium use causes lyrium withdrawals and subsequent madness. It’s also infuriating that the Chantry seem to just throw out the templars after they’ve burned through their physical and mental health in service to the Chantry, which is how we encounter Samson and others in DA2. Cullen is somewhere in that withdrawal in DAI, and may succumb to it depending on the epilogue.
I wanted to symbolize this conflict by showing a pair of templar hands: One grasping their Chantry-issued sword while the other pours lyrium onto that hand, which drips down and coalesces into a chain and shackles on to the original hand. The Prophet’s Laurel plants are to reinforce the Chantry symbolism.
Heavily inspired by the master, @sachinteng ! The OG artist of the beautiful Dragon Age comic book covers!
@dadrawtober prompts are here!
Also, I may slow my roll on DAdrawtober since I’ve drawn for 18 days straight and need a bit of a break :’)
