☱ (we haven't interacted but I'd like to)
Your character has just discovered my character’s journal/diary.Leave a ☱ in my askbox for an entry that’s about you.
Prison is unbearably quiet. Dead silent, aside from the noise of my own beating heart and slow breaths. More than anything, I think that will drive me insane.
I’ve reached out to all of the metal in a mile’s radius. I can’t move it, but I can touch it. It keeps me company.
Except it really doesn’t. Even to me, the metal feels cold now. Lonely. Because it is not as warm as the heat and light I was once accustomed to.
Do you even know, Charles, where I am now? I’m certain you do. I wonder if you believe them, believe that I risked everything, risked my own life and livelihood, to kill a single human.
I suppose it’s exactly what I did with Shaw. I traded peace and paradise for vengeance. But not this time.
Can you hear me, Charles? They took that helmet away from me, the one you hated so much. And the longer I wore it, I realised I hated it too. Hated the silence that came with it.
Because I got used to you voice in my head. The warm little hum that meant you were here. And that I wasn’t alone.
I haven’t felt that hum in so long… But surely you’re listening. Maybe you’re just too far away for me to feel you in turn. I wonder if you roll your eyes at what I think at night, when I’m close to sleep.
I wonder if you hate me, for loving you after all I’ve done. I would hate me. In fact, I’m certain I do.
But I can’t help loving you despite that.
I know I’ll see you soon, Charles. You always had faith. That faith will bring us together again. I’m certain of it.
