You keep saying this series is called Ennead because it's nine stories long, but you keep adding one shots and short stories, that take away from your writing time on the main books. Wouldn't this series have been finished already if you had just focused on the main stories, rather than making some of us wait all the way from 2011? And do you have any idea how long it's going to take for this series to finally be finished?
This series DOES have 9 main stories, but I always said that I didn't promise how many one shots and side stories would be included. There's so many stories to be told outside the main arcs that I don't want to leave them behind.
They don't actually take away from my writing time on the main stories, because I write months of chapters in advance and the side things get written during the time those are being posted. Yes, I suppose if I had only written the main stories, the series might be finished in writing already, but False Light, for example, will be posted twice a month, just like Kismet and Kin were, and it won't be finished until at least May/June 2026.
What actually added YEARS to the length of time it's taken me to post this series, was that my very first Beta Reader would take MONTHS to get a chapter back to me.
Posting without the support wasn't feasible because I need it because of my dyslexia, so it took me months and months to be able to update.
Between this issue and the fact I was facing extreme stress at work, it took me 6 years to get 'For Those We Love' finished (2013-2016).
I very nearly gave up because what was the point of writing if I was never going to be able to share it with everyone.
However since then I've been consistently updating at least once a month, sometimes twice and I am determined to get this series written in its entirety. I'm even starting plans for Ennead GX due to my wife and some friends of mine in the YGO United Discord Server.
False Light is FINISHED. It just needs some editing, so there will be guaranteed main story updates until the middle of next year at the earliest, by which point I WILL have at least started, if not finished the next main arc.
I will also have hopefully started/finished the two, possibly 3 side stories I have in my brain as well as the hundreds of one shots and drabbles I have for various moments at various points of the series.
All I can say for now, is please just enjoy the ride. I don't know when it's going to end, it's certainly not going to be this year or next, but I've been on this ride with you all and I hope that you'll all be with me when Ennead DM finally comes to a close.
