My salty thoughts for anyone who wants to join the pity party.

Woof. I actually held off on creating a ghoulcy sideblog because I had a bad feeling. Not so much about it being canon. Which yeah that was a pipe dream. But just a wariness about what the ship would look like after the finale. I actually thought Barb was popping out of a cryo tube and maybe the next quest was for Janey.

I was still attracted to the chemistry and the story setup though. As long as the relationship remained intimate and important there could still be fuel to the fire. Even with one half of the ship in a marriage. The way so many detective/partners 'will they/ won't they' operate. (Benson & Stabler cough)

But yeah no fucking way. Cooper is 100% in love with his wife and Ghoulcy aren't even partners. They had a very nice platonic full circle story. Which I could've been pleased with if we hadn't of had this way cooler story dangled in front of us.

I'm baffled and irked right now most about why play keep away with BarbCoop? Now I don't ship it at all, but the writers chose to alienate affections towards it. S1 "Alimony" most flashbacks about Barb being evil, Coop was "searching for 'her' (singular). You might say it was for the fake divorce reveal, but... there was no reveal. He asked where his 'fucking family' was in s1 and that was post-divorce. S2 opened up with Lucy knowing he had a WIFE and daughter. We already had the same s1 sympathetic (I guess) motive for Barb, she wanted her family in a good vault. So really it just served to wedge the audience against what should've been this epic sweeping romance we're DYING to see reunite. Instead, it left Coopers family like a matte finish backdrop. As real as the Punisher's family is. Sure, they're a powerful motive, but you don't actually want to see Frank Castle back with them.

THIS should've been an epic uplifting moment. Instead, it just left me ice cold.

Guys I feel like shit. I called out of work bc my stomach was super upset, fell back asleep, woke up super late, discovered I started my period, and literally slept for the rest of the day😭 now it’s 4pm and all I’ve had to eat today is some cereal and all I’ve done is sleep. I hate myself sm🫠

"Stop it, s-stop it!" She shouted, unable to handle his callousness. He spoke about those poor researchers as if they didn't have lives of their own. Those children suffered, lost their father, and they did nothing wrong. How could he justify that? How many other families did he leave bereft in the span of one afternoon? The thought of it made her sick. "Just go away. Leave me alone!" Chloe yelled, and though she tried to appear stern, her words sounded more like a plea than anything else. The guilt was driving her insane, and she didn't know how to remedy it. Nothing she could do would bring all those people back. She wanted it to stop, and having him kill her was the only escape she could see. "Go away!"

Victor watched her sadly, listening to her. He retrieved his visor from the foot of the bed, and he stood.

"I'll leave you to rest for now," he said, struggling to keep his tone even, "but I will return later." As an afterthought he added, "the price of freedom will always be bloodshed. In time, you'll realize that on your own."

He exited the room. The nurse outside looked at him curiously, trying her best to ignore the signs of emotional distress in his features. "Should I post a security guard?" She asked softly. "Is she a flight risk?"

Victor nodded. "Administer a dose of lorazepam to my... to Chloe. Just enough to make her sleep. The poor dear hasn't slept for days."

As she followed his instructions, injecting the medicine into the girl's IV bag, he stepped outside into the courtyard. He sat on a bench with his elbows on his knees, hunched over from an exhaustion and emptiness that he hadn't felt since...

Since when? It surely hadn't happened since before his implantation, and his memories of the days before grew more distant with each passing day.

Not far from him, a gardener was tending the newly blossoming flowers--crocuses, hyacinths, and daffodils. He carefully picked away clumps of dirt from their leaves, careful not to crush them.
